I just have a family come down to visit before they decide to take the job offer here or not.  I will highly recommend you to stop by or visit some of the places listed below.

1)Cary/Apex/Morrisville/Holly Springs -Bonds Park on High House Road (boat house, kids playground, duck feeding & etc), Green Hope Tennis Center across Green Hope Elementary School, Soccer Park on Chatman Street (where the professional soccer team plays), Regional Baseball Park in west Cary hosting regional baseball championship, Cary Acquatic Center with Olympic sized pool, Cary Towne Center (shopping mall), Crossroads Shopping Center on Walnut Street (all big box retailers) Kids Together Park on Cary Parkway (name just changed), Bullwinkles, Beaver Creek Shopping Center on Rt 55 in Apex, Regency Park (lawn concerts & etc at the Amphiatheather), Lake Crabtree, Hopper's House, Booda Beans,Monkey Joes,Jump Zones,Planet Child. Putt-Putt on Tryon Road (miniature golf, go-cart, arcade & etc)..e.t.c.  AND there is a Trader Joe at Cary Parkway and Kildaire Farm.

2)Durham/Hillsborough - South Point Mall, Museum of Life and Science (indoor and outdoor play areas, animals, butterfly house, a pond for remote sail boats, train ride; bring a stroller for the small children) Duke Garden and Chapel, Durham Bull Baseball park, Brightleaf square (restuarants row), Enloe State Park..e.t.c.

3)Chapel Hill - Southern Season (gourment food store), Franklin Street (Ben and Jerry), UNC Campus, Jordon Lake,Planetarium, UNC garden, children museum

4)Raleigh - Downtown Capital, Museum of Natural Science, Museum of Art, Marble Kids Museum, Crabtree Valley Mall, Cameron Village (boutique shopping), Jasper's Place, Brier Creek Shopping Center, North Hills Malls, Adventure Landings (miniature golf, laser tag, go carts, video arcade & etc), Frankies (miniature golf, laser tag, go carts, video arcade &etc), Pump it Up, Pullen Park (Carousel and train ride), Umstead State Park (lake, hiking trails, camping & etc), Falls Lake, Farmers Market (fresh vegetables, plants and frutis), Flea Market at State Fairground, Triangle Town Center Mall, Raleighwood Movies ,..e.t.c

If you plan here to stay for a week or more, you can drive 2.5 hours to NC zoo,NC auquarium (Pine Knolls Shore) and beaches(Willmington beach, Topsail beach, Myrtle Beach, Outer Banks) and 4.5 hours to the Baltimore Estate, Grandfather mountain, Chimney Rocks and Blue Ridge Parkway.
