Westfield Coat Drive 2019

Anyone who's lived through a Westfield winter knows just how cold it gets here. We experience sub-freezing temperatures quite regularly. That means bundling up in your warmest winter clothing simply to go about your regular daily life. However, financial hardships cause some people to forgo winter clothing in order to put food on the table and a roof over their heads. With Thanksgiving just a couple of weeks away, share your blessings by joining the Westfield Coat Drive 2019. Spread your holiday cheer to those less fortunate.

Help keep our less fortunate men, women, and children in our community warm this winter by donating to the Westfield Coat Drive 2019 thru Dec 8th.

What: Westfield Coat Drive 2019
Drop-Off Location: Westfield Police Station (425 E Broad St)
When: Now through 7 pm on December 8th

Westfield Coat Drive 2019

Click here for an instant "No Strings Attached" valuation of your home.A couple of weeks ago, I discussed the food drives going on in Westfield throughout November. (The firefighter food drive continues through December 1st, by the way.) Now that we fed our less fortunate neighbors, how about we clothe them? The Westfield Police Department teamed up with Jersey Cares to host this year's local coat drive.

Between now and 7 pm on December 8th, feel free to drop off your new or gently used coats in the designated receptacles located in the police station's lobby. The station stays open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. So, there's never a bad time to drop them off. Make sure these coats are in good condition (no stains or rips). They need all sizes for men, women, and children. But please keep donations to coats only. No scarves, hats, gloves or mittens. Any other clothing can be donated to Hope Chest, the Westfield Service League Thrift Shop, Progress Clothing Resale or any local Goodwill store.

After December 8th, the Police Department and members of the Westfield PBA Local 90/90A collect all coats received and bring them to our local Jersey Cares facility. In turn, Jersey Cares distributes these coats to folks in need. So, now would be a good time to rummage through your closets and get rid of all the coats you've outgrown or have no need for anymore. Give them a new home with someone else who could put them to good use this winter.
