What a difference 7 years makes. I am so grateful and thankful because for the past seven years, I have been witness to these amazing events in my family's history. Seven years ago in December, 2012 I had a heart attack and was shocked back to life twice on the ER table. This is what I almost missed.
In that time, I've seen my youngest daughter graduate with her nursing degree from Olivet Nazarene University. She now works in her dream job the OR department of Riverside Medical Center. She is one of the most requested nurses because of her dedication and hard work and eye for detail. I also think she's OCD, which helps in the operating room since doctors are so picky. She also bought a new home a few years ago and decorated it just like it was her very own IKEA store.
My middle daugher is a free spirit living in Vermont and works at a local vintage clothing store/vinyl record shop. She is the closest thing to a hippie I've seen since the 70's. She is an avid outdoorswoman and forages the local forests for healthy alternatives to modern medicines.
My son completed and graduated with his Masters degree at Southern Illinois University in May of 2019 and is in charge of the removal of damaging invasive plant species in 11 counties of Illinois.
Finally, my oldest daughter opened an art gallery in Kankakee, Il over three years ago and has over 50 artists with a wide assortment of art and gifts. Plus, she blessed us with our very first grandson on September 19, 2019 named Clover Leif Seaton.
I think every parent's wish is that their children are happy, healthy and succesful. In that regard, I've got nothing to worry about and everything to be thankful for.
