Bailey’s General Store Champagne & Food Pairings for Holiday Event

Bailey’s General Store and Chef Karl from Sanibel Catering Company have released the food and Champagne pairings for the Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne tasting event December 5, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at The Community House, 2173 Periwinkle Way. Guests will experience the full portfolio of Champagne from Nicolas Feuillatte, the #1 selling Champagne in France and have an opportunity to purchase the Champagne at a discount for their holiday shopping.

The tasting event will begin with the Brut Reserve NV, with aromas of apple, pear and peach intermingled with curry and turmeric spices paired with a curried pear slaw. The second course will be the Brut Rosé NV, an extremely delicate mousse with a fruity finish and red fruit aromas, paired with cranberry dijon glazed salmon skewers. Next will be the D’Luscious Demi-Sec Rosé NV which is dry and slightly sweet with notes of red fruit and cherry and raspberry flavors paired with Thai spiced shrimp. Finally, the award winning Palmes d’Or 2006 Brut Vintage, which earned the gold medal at Sakura Japan Women's Wine Awards 2019 in Tokyo, will be paired with smoked chicken and goat cheese puffs. The Champagne features bright flavors of lemon sorbet with a creamy texture and perfectly balanced acidity.

The event will culminate with Chef Karl performing a cooking demonstration. Assorted mixed nuts, hard cheese and charcuterie will be served throughout the evening as well as chocolate truffles for dessert.
