Some of you may recall, we remodeled our kitchen this year. While it was a long and arduous experience, we appreciate those of you who reminded us to keep our eye on the prize. And you're right, the inconvenience was well worth it.
When you're in residential Real Estate, it's obvious how important a kitchen is to the overall desirability of a home. Buyers tend to quickly reject homes with dated and dark kitchens. We get it, the kitchen is more than just a place to cook and eat. It's the spot where family and visiting guests gather to connect and communicate.
Our old kitchen, with oak cabinets, mauve Formica counter-tops, and dated appliances was screaming for help. We spent a lot of time researching and finding things we both liked, prior to the remodel. Our goal was to create an attractive, efficient, and timeless design that reflected both of our personalities, and honored the style of the house.
We also wanted to make sure the end result would flow seamlessly with the rest of the Great Room design. While, we love the open space, it can make decorating more challenging. The colors and textures of the new kitchen needed to harmonize with the rest of our furnishings and decor.
It also needed to have all the elements a home chef enjoys. Bernie especially, loves to cook, I (Debb) have a few specialties, but most of the time my job is to assist and clean. The work triangle, and expanded cook island, make it a true dream for us to be in the space together, without bumping elbows.
You can probabaly tell, we are thrilled with our new kitchen. Each and every day we are excited for another morning to make coffee in such a beautiful space. We are both so grateful.
This is another entry into the November 2019 Thanksgiving Gratitude Challenge hosted by Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland and Debe Maxwell, CRS - thank you ladies.
