Bob, I remember many years ago our first Thanksgiving and cooking our first turkey, long before the internet and hotline. I could have used these resources then for sure!

Endre, Our turkey is defrosting as we speak and this year I am living dangerously. My husband is in charge of preparing and cooking the turkey and I will handle the rest of the meal. Hello Diana - I remember one Thanksgiving as a child and it was particularly warm so my Mom decided to have turkey prepared on the barbecue.  Well, through a series of mishaps the turkey landed on the patio and skidded towards the yard.  It was still delicious...I guess it was the combination of barbecue and garden hose(to wash it) that gave it that distinctive flavor.

We have never made or had a brined turkey. We are traditionalists and stay with the roasted turkey we grew up on.
