Happy Thanskgiving. As you sit down to your relaxing Thanksgiving meal with family, some of you may have one missing who is serving abroad, maybe in harms way this year. Well, after my son served in Iraq over a holiday season I never forget to say thank you quietly for these brave individuals who put their lives at risk so we may be safe and celebrate whilst they frankly are suffering, not that they see it that way.
They will often be eating rations in a forward operating base, or command post somewhere, maybe they might get a special delivery of Turkey dinner, but they don't expect it. Sometimes they are actually in action. They are just doing their job and looking out for each other making sure they all come home.
So, when you are being grateful remember all the men and women serving in our Armed Forces spread around the world. I am thankful my guy is home with his new daughter and wife and no longer serving.
Happy Thanksgiving!
