Holiday Madness

By
Home Builder with West Magnolia Charm

The holidays tend to make people a little nutty, myself included. It's always such a crazy time of year. We are doing things like shopping for gifts and getting our homes ready for guests all the while trying to continue with everyday life. It's stressful, to say the least.

I am planning a little home holiday refresh. I want to get a few things done before I have guests over for the upcoming holidays. Somehow though, time got away from me and I'm not going to be able to do any major updating that I had hoped to do. However, I am going to do a few smaller updates that will give my home a refreshed feel.

Painting.

No, I am not planning on painting every room in my home. But, I am going to give my bathroom a fresh coat of paint. I'm going with a new paint color called Thunder by Benjamin Moore for the walls and on the trim, Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace. The bathroom gets a lot of use and the wall color could use a little boost. This is an easy update because bathrooms are generally small, so painting it won't consume a ton of your time.

Kitchen Hardware.

This is a super simple way to give your kitchen a new look in no time. Switching out your kitchen hardware is one of the easiest ways to update your kitchen without tearing anything out. And the best part about this is that it's fairly inexpensive to do. Unless you are one to always pick out the most expensive thing, then it may cost a little more. (I'm guilty of doing this)  Regardless, it is still cheaper than a full-blown kitchen renovation.

Wine Glasses.

Ok, so I may or may not have a problem with breaking wine glasses. Every time I go to wash one it breaks. I must be cursed. I am currently down to mismatched 4 wine glasses. This is a problem when you have more than 4 wine drinkers visiting your home at once. Now, it is the perfect time to update any wine glasses or dishes that have been broken. And the best part is that you will be able to find some great deals.

If you are thinking you are out of time to refresh your home for the holidays, that's not the case! There are so many updates you can accomplish in a short amount of time. The important thing to remember is that the holidays are meant to be enjoyed. Do what you can and don't sweat the rest.

Thanks for sharing these updates for the holiday season. I think I may do a couple of them. Have a great afternoon.

I like your list of things around the house you're looking to refresh. We might be under the same curse when it comes to wine glasses. I can't seem to "hold on to" a complete set either.

I've got vinyl planking flooring stacked in my house. Trying to decide whether it should be installed before or after the holidays.

That's a tough one. I personally would be able to let it wait if I had the material already. But I am pretty impatient. haha

We sometimes take wine and wine glasses that we have received at wine tastings to family gatherings and leave the glasses for the younger people who would like to have them.
