Thankful Thursday...Continuing It

Michael Jacobs wrote an inspiring post after Thanksgiving encouraging us to continue to recognize what we have to be thankful for...to make it part of thank youour routine and everyday life.

And he would be right. If we look for the bad in people or life, we will surely find it. If when you wake up and before you turn in for the night you make it a point...a daily habit...to reflect on what you are thankful for, I believe that more positive things will come your way.

So on that rather lengthy opening, I want to get back to sharing what I am grateful for.

People...they’re all around us and you can’t get away from them. Sometimes you want to lock yourself in your home and not see anyone for days.

And yet...on their own...individually...people are pretty darn good. I marvel at how people will come to your aid even if they don’t know you.

When we moved into our neighborhood, our neighbor across the street came over to introduce himself and later brought over his wife. They’re what I call Good people. If fact, they joined us and the rest of my crowd for Thanksgiving.

I love it when a person offers to help a lady put her groceries in her car when they see that she is struggling with them. (no it wasn’t me)

I love it when total strangers come together to help someone or strike up a conversation while standing in line.

Basically, I love people and I do believe in the basic good that resides in most of us.

thank you

People...I am grateful for YOU

Hi Kathy Streib

It all starts with us.  I now live in an area where neighbors help each other and it is so refreshing.

Hi Kathy,
Most people ARE good!  It is sad that there is so much focus put on the negative going on in the world and the people who are constantly on the look-out for reasons to be offended and spread discontent.

There is much good in people. It's important to share the good little incidents we witness daily; they increase when we do.

Kathy I believe the simplest acts of kindness are the ones most appreciated, and we are all capable of doing those simple acts.

Appreciate that Donald Urschalitz

Keith McMullin Hi and thank you for your very kind words!!! You're right about ActiveRain.

Barbara Todaro Civility has gone underground. I do think that we all are part of the problem. We need to demand of all of our politicians who represent us act in a civil manner.   We are sick and tired of their (and I mean all of them) acting as if they were playing a game with no regard for those of us who elected them.

Isn't that a wonderful post Myrl Jeffcoat

Nina Hollander it's there...we have to be open for it when we see people.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel all the years of doing yoga, I would say it at the end but never really knew the meaning.

Grant Schneider Can you imagine what kind of world this would be if we didn't believe in the good in people?

I agree Sheri Sperry - MCNE® it's the first thing that Larry and I noticed when we moved back to Houston.

Hi Li Read so good to see you. Thank you.

Oh my gosh Carol Williams you are so right. It seems that we pick apart what people say...looking for a reason to be offended.  Don't get me started.

you are so right Lottie Kendall we have to share what's good and the positive things that have happened. It will spread.

People can be amazing. We are living in a new place, and we were invited to one neighbors house for a meet 'n greet, another's for a Christmas brunch, and another for a movie date. Loving people at the moment!
