Thankful Thursday...Continuing It
Michael Jacobs wrote an inspiring post after Thanksgiving encouraging us to continue to recognize what we have to be thankful for...to make it part of our routine and everyday life.
And he would be right. If we look for the bad in people or life, we will surely find it. If when you wake up and before you turn in for the night you make it a point...a daily habit...to reflect on what you are thankful for, I believe that more positive things will come your way.
So on that rather lengthy opening, I want to get back to sharing what I am grateful for.
People...they’re all around us and you can’t get away from them. Sometimes you want to lock yourself in your home and not see anyone for days.
And yet...on their own...individually...people are pretty darn good. I marvel at how people will come to your aid even if they don’t know you.
When we moved into our neighborhood, our neighbor across the street came over to introduce himself and later brought over his wife. They’re what I call Good people. If fact, they joined us and the rest of my crowd for Thanksgiving.
I love it when a person offers to help a lady put her groceries in her car when they see that she is struggling with them. (no it wasn’t me)
I love it when total strangers come together to help someone or strike up a conversation while standing in line.
Basically, I love people and I do believe in the basic good that resides in most of us.
People...I am grateful for YOU
If civilization is to survive, we must cultivate the science of human relationships - the ability of all peoples, of all kinds, to live together, in the same world at peace. Franklin D. Roosevelt
