Sometimes we get so lost in our ambitions that we forget to enjoy the obvious i.e. what is presented to us in the moment wherever we are. Picture a compass point. It is broken down into 360 degrees of observations or points that when turned to gives us a view of that segment we are observing. One cannot even name all that they see and that's only one compass point
THE ANSWER TO THE POST TITLE
The best way to keep score and I maintain the only way to do it is: SO FAR...SO GOOD. Look how simple that is and we tend to either ignore it or fail to respect it. All you have to do is realize it is there and you receive the reward of the score. So far, so good does not let you down but instead informs you
WHEN THINGS ARE NOT SO GOOD
What if things are not good? Well, you made this far didn't you? Enjoy HALF of the statement and if you must lament and I do not fault you if you do the alternative is far worse. Pain only visits with the living plus there is always another phrase that helps us along that doesn't let down ever. Read on to this encouragement
HOPE FOR THE BEST
No matter what is going on in your life or whatever you believe in or don't, HOPE is always present & ready to work with no strings attached. It is not discussed enough either. The gift of hope is under-rated & under-used yet it still delivers & even becomes more valuable when acknowledged. Hows that for a friend?
THIS TOO SHALL PASS
I have called upon the "this too shall pass" so many times I have lost count. I remember being young and down in the dumps too many times when I discovered this worthy and powerful statement. I read the story of how it was created and let me share because it is relevant in its formation-creation stage at its inception
POWERFUL & WEALTHY KING
This King had power, money and fame and was not happy at times and didn't know how to handle those moments. He commanded his counselors, wise men and stewards to give him something that would always make him happy, content and at peace even when he was not. Something that would never fail and always come through no matter the circumstances. They found his request daunting & no one ever refused the King anything. They went to work on this dropping all other matters. Things came to a standstill
DAY & NIGHT SPENT
The entire Kingdom was put into this command by the King and after an exhaustive and what appeared to never-end challenge the solution came and the many were relieved when it did. Why? You shall see in my next paragraph. Meanwhile they couldn't wait to tell the King and the entire Kingdom was assembled
MY LORD KING
Your request for an answer on how to handle any worst situation that could visit with you is at hand. The King being anxious and happy sat eagerly waiting as the elite of the wise counsel said unto him: My Lord, no matter what comes about or takes place, whether it be distressing, painful or appear without end we say unto you the following:
THIS TOO SHALL PASS
The King repeated back what he was told and it held! He saw the power of the words and the truth it invoked and from that day forward built his entire life upon it. Of course way before he did, his counselors did being relieved that they were able to use it when they needed it the most "this too shall pass" & it did...
WATCH THE THINKING
Thinking too much takes so much when you do. The most effective way to deal with thoughts is to treat them like a passing parade presented to you to just observe & to focus on what is of interest & to just watch the rest as it parades by. The key is to not give over power to the thought parade. It then serves the observer
THE FORMULA FOR LIFE
At some point in a young persons life, they are wanting to have the question that plagues all young people i.e. how to proceed, what to proceed on, why to do it, when to do and how to as well as a where. The question never goes away and visits with all mankind. Two things will happen as follows:
1. Everyone will get their answers when they arrive at these questions. Approach them and they speak
2. Everyone gets the answer that is for them. They even get to see others getting or searching while they do
THE END RESULT
You will get your answers by living your questions because the questions only unlock doors and clear the paths for the answer to arrive and go to work. Trying too hard sometimes stalls the progress and not trying enough slows it down. It is then we are encouraged with this simple ABC of life: SO FAR...SO GOOD
