I have always loved pictures in Sheri Sperry - MCNE® posts, so when my calendar opened up, it was time for a road trip! Thought taking Mia (my kitty) with me, as she needs hydration every few days, and she really doesn't like the vet's office. that way I don't miss her either. Wasn't sure what she would be like in the car, as going to the vet, all she does is meow, and loudly! Yep, same thing for a 10-15 minutes - guess she was "telling me off"! She finally got used to the rocking motion, and mostly slept while driving. Every so often, she came out and sat in my lap to get "some loving", and watch where we were going.
Santa Fe was cold, rainy and gray, something I had not experienced there before. Good thing it was just a "stop-off" place. It was the same in Albuquerque. 6-7 hours in the car for a couple days --- finally arrived in Sedona Monday afternoon. I can see why Sheri & Rick relocated here, it is BEAUTIFUL! I thought I was home driving down Oak Creek Canyon, with the hairpin curves, windy roads, and cliffs. BUT, the difference is --- they have guard rails! Was taken with my cell while driving, but almost came to a stop so I could take this.
I ran into a local that said I needed to visit Jerome, which is about 40 minutes outside of Sedona. It was to be the largest ghost town in the U.S. Well, it was on the side of a hill, very narrow streets. I had plans of stopping and walking around, but there was no parking available. It was pretty cool to be built on the side of a mountain.
Next was Bell Rock, Chapel of the Holy Cross. I guess I came to AZ to take pictures of rocks, because I am having a good time while doing it. I almost stopped the car on the highway, as there was a snake in the middle of the road! OH MY! (there were not any cars behind me) I did take a picture of a cactus.
I would add more photos, but adding these three took about 20 minutes, and would rather be walking around Sedona! Lol
Sheri, Rick and I shall meet at a local mexican restaurant for lunch tomorrow, and will be so nice to meet them in person!
