It is a quite hectic and daunting task to get any work done in your home. However, if you make the right choice of the contractor or fitter, it can save you from a lot of hassle and trouble. Since the bathroom is the most important part of your home, you should pay attention to details while hiring any bathroom fitter.

Here are the four things mentioned which you must check before you hire any bathroom fitter.

Expertise

The first thing you need to check is the area of the expertise of your chosen bathroom fitter. The fitter must know the kind of job he is required to do with the specific architectural style of your bathroom. So, you should check whether a bathroom fitter has done similar kinds of jobs before this or not. You can also ask the shortlisted fitters to provide with a few proofs of their qualification and successful past projects. Any renowned or reliable bathroom fitter would happily provide you with the copies of his official documents and experiences.

Quotes

You should also get multiple quotes from different London bathroom fitters. However, the quotes must include everything from labor and material costs to removing and repairing costs. You can ask the fitters directly to break down the cost for you to have a clear idea about it. It would then help you make a fair comparison and analysis based on actual net amounts. Also, it would keep you safe from the hassles and conflicts which might happen otherwise due to the hidden charges.

Written Contract

You should not believe every word you tend to hear instead you need to get everything in writing from your shortlisted bathroom fitters. The written contract should include the details of the project i.e. timeline, payment methods, schedules, and other important factors. It is also advised to get the contract signed before you get the project started. If you feel like any of the bathroom fitters is hesitating while giving away the details or signing the contract, you should better walk out and find other better and reliable options.

Referrals and Reviews

Referrals and reviews can provide you with a sort of guarantee that you are making the right decision. You need to start with your family, friends, relatives, or even neighbors to get some trustworthy referrals from them. Their good or bad experiences might save you from a lot of hassle at the end of the day. So, you can ask them to share details with you. Similarly, you can ask the fitter as well to provide you with a few referrals with whom you can have direct communication. Moreover, online reviews are the words coming from past customers so you should check what they have to say about different bathroom fitters out there. However, you should make sure that the websites you choose to read reviews and suggestions are not misleading or unauthentic.

Good morning, Asad Malik great direction here for those who are in the process of home improvements.... the plumbing phase of a home is at the top of the list and on the same line with the electrician, in my opinion... plumbing and electrical are the primary interior renovations in a home....

Good morning Asad Malik,

I saw Barbara Todaro re-blogged your post. Excellent advice. I've never heard the term Bathroom Fitter.... is that a plumber, general contractor? We don't use that term here but plumbing is so important in a bath to be done right.
