Friday Photo: Hello Mallards!

Yes, the mallards are back in the fresh water channel that flows into the ocean via the salt marshes.   They fly in for the delicious greens (algae) that grows as the fresh water from the mountains comes down and meets up with the ocean's salted waters. For these creatures, it is a delicacy! Quincy is fascinated with these ducks, as you can see from this photo.

Happy Friday, enjoy the weekend!

Michael Jacobs he could, but he would go around and take the entry by the gate even though it is padlocked, by that time they would have flown.  They get spooked easily and take off.  He would prefer a lizard!  Happy Friday.  A

Wayne Martin we had duck for dinner one evening, and he was not interested in it at all.  Cheers.

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® We tried to have our first Aby walk on a leash, and she would play dead and insulted.  With Quincy it was different, we used a harness, and he can get out of it easily, so he does not feel leashed.  He does have lots of free range time, when we are outside and gardening.

Hi there Ron and Alexandra Seigel - Quincy always lives up to the "curiosity of a cat" perception. He's so cute on his leash too. What amazing friends he has in you two.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD It is so much fun to have a cat's point of view on display.  We are continually enchanted by all that is around us, thanks to him. Happy Friday.  A

A leash on a cat, there's something you don't see every day. Quincy shows great restraint from his somewhat camouflaged position.

Good morning Ron and Alexandra Seigel - it is a good thing the fence is between Quincy and the mallards.

Kevin J. May he actually is on a harness which leaves his neck free of a collar.  When we had cats before, we had breakaway collars which we stopped using since the gardener would find them in trees and other bushes.  A

We experienced the same with the breakaways but getting them to wear a harness was a lesson in futility. Although with coaxing I think I could have more easily taught them to moonwalk using the harness as inspiration along with some of MJ's music in the background.

Quincy looks like he would have liked an opportunity to "frolic" with the mallards, Alexandra.

Hi Ron and Alexandra,  Thanks so much for sharing this fantastic photo.  It could be quite a catastrophe if the fence weren't there.
