Mornings for me are my best sales productivity time. With few disturbances I can complete 4 hours or more work in two or less hours. This work ranges from real estate marketing to client communication to sales follow-up.
Each morning presents new opportunities regardless of the weather. Though I must admit I prefer the beautiful colorful sunrises of NW Arizona to the less colorful sunrises of the Midwest. Maybe it is the mountains and far less pollution that make the difference.
Being a process person, over the years my mornings have developed a particular cadence. Since changing industries, it did take me a while to rediscover that cadence again.
After coffee, I first check my calendar. Then I begin to update the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. By taking this action I can ensure I have honored all of my commitments from phone calls, emails and texts. As we all get very busy, it is quite easy for something to slip off our plates. Also our CRM allows our broker and other teammates to know what is happening within our real estate interactions and transactions.
Next I review our local MLS. I look for any sales opportunities within the cancelled or expired listings. Then I read all the pending and sold listings. As I have developed a tool (Excel spread sheet), I track all listings that I have sent to or visited with clients. If a property goes pending or is sold, I immediately send an email to a client. This action demonstrated to the client I am watching properties in which they have expressed a particular interest.
Email is again checked for any new incoming emails or any that must still be addressed. At this time if time permits I start filing emails.
Depending upon time, I hop over to Active Rain, read a few blogs and make a few comments if appropriate. Sometimes I may even have time to write a blog.
Years ago I shared this observation with others “The more I write the better I think, the better I think the more I write.” Writing provides me the opportunity for ongoing reflection and clarity.
Yes, living here in NW AZ, I truly appreciate the chorus to this song by Rodgers and Hammerstein II.
Oh what a beautiful morning,
Oh what a beautiful day,
I've got a wonderful feeling,
Everything's going my way.
