On the advice of Jeff Turner, I recently purchased a Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FX35 to replace my no-longer-trusty-old Kodak V705. While I loved my Kodak, it's recently started to act up and I figured that since it's discontinued, it made more sense to purchase rather than repair.

yanaI've used my new camera for both business and personal reasons in my first week of ownership and I'm quite happy. Last week I photographed my new listing - a small house built in 1907 (this is relevant because in these types of homes a wide-angle lens is imperative) and was thrilled with the results. The camera added a distinct warmth to the rooms and easily captured the entire scene, even the 9'x8' bedroom!

I also used it this last weekend on my camping trip and got some great action shots of the puppies frolicking, as well as some beautiful ambience shots of the sunset over the lake.

The only mildly negative results I got were in my car - I tried to snap a few photos of my dogs sleeping in the back seat and they came out blurry.

But anyway, I whole-heartedly recommend this wonderful little camera (yeah, it's tiny!) as a replacement or substitute for the discontinued Kodak V705. I think I paid just under $300 for it on Amazon.com, brand new. Only weird thing is - it doesn't come with a memory stick, but I had one from my Kodak, which works just fine...

Thanks Jeff!

Digital cameras just get better, with more quality images and more features packed in, and lower prices.

I missed getting a V705, but I love the Kodak P880 I picked up.

24mm wide-angle has spoiled me.  I can get an 80 foot wide home completely in the frame, from the curb.

I picked up the Casio Exlim and LOVE it. I only spent 150 for everything and it also does video. That video I did for the week 2 challenge was from that camera!

Jennifer, thanks for the camera tip. I have a Canon PS SE that's great, but I'm always thinking that I'm missing some new toy! I've heard good things about the Panasonic Lumix. Your pictures look great. Really nice listing and ADORABLE HAPPY pups! Thanks for posting.

Jennifer,

What timing ! I'm looking into buying another camera, and there you are with the blog answer.

Very nice pics. Next, could you write a blog about the best phone for agents ? My next purchase.

Take more camping pics. Looks like a great spot. Thanks

Best phone? I SO don't know. I actually just replaced my 5 year old cell phone with a very simple LG model that doesn't do anything it doesn't need to do. I'm quite happy with it!

One more camping pic... here's ME (and Ziggers) in Harley-Girl mode...

Oh . . . tell me those aren't the cutest Rhodesian Ridgeback pups I've ever seen. Well maybe the Beko - Rhodesian ridgebacksecond cutest . . . or third and fourth cutest!

Bad Dogs in the BedOf course, I could be partial . . .

Jennifer, Looks like the camera takes some real nice pics.  Also, it looks simple to use.  My Kodak is just a couple yrs old, but when the time comes, I may look into the panasonic.  Who knows by that time, they'll probably have 20 megapixels.  LOL

Robin - Awwwwwwwww.... so sweet! I have no idea what the puppies are - several have suggested Rhodesian Ridgeback, but I've also heard Pit Bull, Beagle and Shepherd... I just call them the Brown Dogs. Ziggers looks just like your Beko, but her sister Baba looks more like a tall Beagle...

Cool update - it is always great to upgrade from a technology perspective.  Sometimes until you do you do now know what you are missing.  I am constantly behind on the curve - finally upgraded my Treo to a Blackberry about a month ago and am soooo glad I did.
