On the advice of Jeff Turner, I recently purchased a Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FX35 to replace my no-longer-trusty-old Kodak V705. While I loved my Kodak, it's recently started to act up and I figured that since it's discontinued, it made more sense to purchase rather than repair.
I've used my new camera for both business and personal reasons in my first week of ownership and I'm quite happy. Last week I photographed my new listing - a small house built in 1907 (this is relevant because in these types of homes a wide-angle lens is imperative) and was thrilled with the results. The camera added a distinct warmth to the rooms and easily captured the entire scene, even the 9'x8' bedroom!
I also used it this last weekend on my camping trip and got some great action shots of the puppies frolicking, as well as some beautiful ambience shots of the sunset over the lake.
The only mildly negative results I got were in my car - I tried to snap a few photos of my dogs sleeping in the back seat and they came out blurry.
But anyway, I whole-heartedly recommend this wonderful little camera (yeah, it's tiny!) as a replacement or substitute for the discontinued Kodak V705. I think I paid just under $300 for it on Amazon.com, brand new. Only weird thing is - it doesn't come with a memory stick, but I had one from my Kodak, which works just fine...
Thanks Jeff!
