Out With The Old...
Out With The Old... Here we are as we approach the beginning of the second month of 2020 in a week or so. Yes, I know we don't need another reminder of the lightning speed of time in our lives.
Of those who make resolutions, I wonder how many have been broken or even remembered beyond the time they were initially made? Under such hope and promise. I digress.
Actually my mind has wandered in a bit of a different direction. It seems that there is some thoughts entering my mind about reusing or adapting old ways. It's hardly a new idea. Actually, I am pretty sure it never went out of style. You know, in the real world.
We see centuries-old buildings, art and more throughout the world. We 'see" it when we travel there in person and when we visit places in other ways(reading and such) we are able to "see" it as well. Some of it stands today as it once did in the past. Very little has changed. In other examples, we see repurposing of structures and/or uses. Adapting of all sorts.
Many cultures embrace the old ways through connections with people and cultivation of things more valuable than the mere physical. You can likely cite examples of your own I am sure that capture that thought.
When I think and ponder, I often find a quote or quotes that makes me wonder a bit more. The thoughts I may have originally pondered can go off on an entirely different tangent. I think this one is a good match for me. For today:
Nothing Lasts Forever.
So Live It Up,
Drink It Down,
Laugh It Off,
Avoid The Drama,
Take Chances And Have No Regrets
Because
At One Point Everything You Did
Was Exactly What You Wanted.
Marilyn Monroe
