It is the Superbowl of Showings today

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Godzyk Real Estate Services NH License 033394

It was a strange conversation yesterday, calling an agent yesterday for one of my buyer clients who wanted to see their listing today, Super Bowl Sunday.  The agent surprisingly declined saying she was not working on the Super bowl.

It was puzzling because the showing was at 2pm. It was also puzzling because the Patriots are not in it, so the mood is a little somber around these parts. The home has been for sale for nearly 4 months an din this market, now i know why.

On the other side of the coin, I have 12 showings on my listings today. A new listing to go get and have to meet my relocation buyer. There is 4 homes they want to see and write up an offer today.

As I stare at my IPhone 11 it is 8:15am, that means showings start in 45 minutes. so it is a SUPER kind of Sunday for real estate.

The MOST IMPORTANT message I can share is that all agents are not created equal. The choice of an agent does matter. Hire the agent that will work for you through each step of the buying or selling process.

I now share with every consumer that my philosophy is simple, provide more personal and professional service to guide my clients through each step of the buying or selling process. All Agents are not created equal and every buyer or seller should take the time to hire the BEST not just the biggest. Those that hire me, find a dedication like no other.

I can't imagine. We showed homes on both Easter and Christmas Eve this year - it's what we do. When somebody wants to look, we let them look.

Hi Scott,
That appears to be a breach of the other agent's fiduciary duties to their client. They should at least give the sellers the option whether they want a showing on this day, especially since it is well before the game starts.

Several years ago I had a significant number of listings at one time.  I scheduled an Open House for one of them on Super Bowl Sunday.  And, I was shocked at how many Football Widows came through.  One brought her husband back the following evening, and they bought the house.

Shouldn’t it be the seller’s decision as to whether or not the house is shown, not the listing agent’s

There are frequently reasons why a house doesn't sell that have nothing to do with the house itself.  And the sellers rarely understand.

Haha, I spent 90 minutes at a listing yesterday myself, second showing for a buyer deciding to make the deal. Deal made, so worth it.
One of the drivers at the property was upset bc owner didn't tell him we were coming and he was showering for a SB party, LOL!
