I had to get a new digital camera today. My Kodak V570 won't open the lense and tomorrow I am leaving to meet some of the Active Rain girls for a trip to Ashville, N.C. Nope we have ALL never met. So this is going to be fun, yet we feel we know each other.

Now you can't go on an Active Rain get together without a camera. So I skyped Sarah Cooper as I couldn't remember which camera Jeff Turner had recommended besides the V570. She told me she uses the Canon Power Shot SX10015 and loved it.

Jeff was recommending the Panasonic Lumx DCM FX35, but Best Buy didn't carry it and I could not wait for several days for it to come as I fly out in the morning.

I ended up purchasing the Panasonic DMC-TZ5.

Well, let's just say I loved it when I played around with it. I think it will work out just fine for my real estate shots. It has a EZ zoom of 10X and a Wide Angle of 28mm.

I loved my Kodak V570, but I'm sure I will learn to like this one too, even with the learning curve. Here are some photo's I just shot at dusk. No, not Teresa Boardman by any means !

But, I'm sure Sarah will help me figure it all out, when I'm not busy working with my apprentice Kim Wood on the MakeOver2TakeOver 4th week assignment.

Missy, my favorite shot is either the sunrise or sunset shot with the two houses. Very nice.

Hi Missy,

I tried to buy the same camera, the FX35  this week that JT recommended too.  Found it online at  Costo, yet not in the store on Monday. They told it me could take up to 2 weeks to get it online and I want it a.s.a.p. Then went to WalMart, didn't have it either. Still looking.

Hope you girls have a great time!

No, Missy, No!!!

I haven't even read your post yet!

As soon as I got to your blog and saw the title I drew in my breathe and thought, oh, no!

I do not need another camera.  I do not want another camera.  Please, when I read this do not entice me.

MISSY, you are going to have so much fun.  Last fall I had a sleepover with Thesa Chambers and Chris Tesch.  It just felt like we already knew each other when we met.

Missy...I am breathing again.  I have two Panasonics.  The DMC-FZ18 and the DMC-FZ55.  Really like both of them and have only had them a short time.

Have a great time in Ashville.  I've never been there.  I should hop in my car and track you gals down.

I just have to look for some women that are having a lot of fun and are taking lots of pictures.

Missy - these photos are very nice. Who would want to be  "Teresa Boardman" when they can be  Missy Caulk"?  I have a Panasonic Lumix for more than a year. It is a fine camera and I keep it with me at all times. Many of the photos on my blogs were taken with it.   Your apprentice, Kim is quite the photographer, she can lend you a hand too.

Hi Missy,
Great photos.  Enjoy your trip to our beautiful state, Ashville is a wonderful area.  My brother went to prep school just outside Ashville so we visited there often.

Well get here already, so we can PLAY!!!!

Other than some of the letter/numbers on the model - it sounds like mine! (DMC-FZ25) . Oh, I guess one letter/number makes all the difference :)

Can't wait to see you in "Area 54"

Missy...

Don't you just love taking pictures :).  Bill is getting afraid my computer will blow because I have so many.  I used to take underwater film shoots with my Nikon underwater camera, now that's tough.  It has given me a good "eye", still not tech smart, but my photos look good.  I'm using a simple Olympus FE-210, mega-pixel 7.1, it has a great macro and super macro setting but no wide angle.  I also have a super semi-pro camera I bought for the office and my trip to Africa (I still have 3,000 shoots to edit :)

This first pictures look great, so looking forward to seeing the ones from you trip.  Not fair getting to meet in person with Kim :).  I know y'all will have a blast!

When you get a minuet I need some help on how to link and put some widgets on my blog site.  Let me know if you can help me and a good time when we can both be at our computers.

Have fun, be safe, Liz
