My apologies to anyone who may be upset over this, but it just has to be done.

If any of you were able to listen in to tonight's radio show hosted by Juliet Johnson, you may already know that oe of the requirements of the job of moderator is to delete posts that do not apply to the group.

Unfortunately, MEME's fall into this category.  From this day forward, all MEME posts will be deleted from SIF.  These have fallen into a grey area for some of our moderators in the past and have been allowed to slide, but due to recent events and opinions expressed by members of the group, it has been decided that the issue is more black and white and will be approached accordingly.  All non-staging related posts - or posts that cannot be applied to your staging business - are to be deleted, period, meme's included.

On the bright side, this allows all of us to branch out to other groups for networking such as the Meme group set aside for that specific purpose and do not forget the Stagers Coffee Clutch.

For those who have recently expressed their discontent over the deletion of posts, it is agreed that if this rule applies to one, it must apply to all, and so it shall be.

It is sad that we have to delete another way to get to know each other, but I understand. No worries... I just hope that others can see why this has to happen. :)

You know Kim this little change will, of course, make it easier for those of us who moderate. But more importantly it will make it easier for those looking for staging information when they come to SIF. And, as strange as it may seem at first it will really make it easier for the bloggers who want to post in SIF. We do tend to be more comfortable when we know what the boundries are.

I've noticed on some of the roads we travel there are no little white or yellow lines painted on the edges or at the center and I'm less certain of where my auto needs to be to keep me safe. On the roads with the lines I feel so comfortable knowing that there is certainly enough room for my car within the boundries.

And, like you say, this is an excellent opportunity for each of us to spread our wings a bit. I've found that I'm always rewarded handsomely when I search out or even post in groups I haven't tried before.

Not to worry LKP, we do get to know about one another in so many ways. What a person writes about is one clue. How they write is another clue. And there is always opportunity to say a great deal about yourself within a post which has its main emphasis on staging. And, this may be the most important thing as our dear friend Karen Otto pointed out, one great way to get to know others in the group is through the comments we leave and the responses we give to one another.

Great work by the moderators, I don't envy you your job! BTW, I agree the focus of SIF is staging.

Kimberly, squeeky wheels...well, ok then.  We'll just go elsewhere to read the meme's.  I would not be the person to complain about this.  You work for nothing, you give of your precious time and we all benefit.  THANK YOU MODERATORS.  We need to do what you need to keep you doing the stellar job you are doing for the good of all.

Thanks to all of you for your words of support and understanding.  As much as Yvonne and I hate to take the hard line, it seems it must be that way.  But, we all miss alot when we congregate in our little puddle and don't venture out.

Terrylynn - Squeeky wheels, indeed.  I don't believe in greasing them - they usually require constant maintenance - I believe in letting them squeal until they seize up.... but we cannot control others, we can only control ourselves, so that is what we will do....   :)

HI Kim - Though I didn't have the opportunity to listen in to the Moderators call last night, I appreciate that the SIF group will stay focused on Home Staging.  The Meme's have been fun to read, though they are not staging related.  When too many non-staging posts are submitted at SIF, it makes it more difficult to weed through the numbers to get to the 'meat'.  SIF has become so social (which is fun as well), however, keeping the focus where it needs to be asks for clearer boundaries.  Good job to you and Yvonne with moderating, because it certainly is a huge undertaking to handle! Keep up the great work!  Regards-Kathleen G

Is someone going to go through and transfer posts to the other groups or do we have to do that ourselves?

If you do post something (with good intent) but it doesn't fall within the groups guidlines, does it automatically get deleted or does someone notifiy you?

Do you lose the points from AR if the post gets deleted?

Is the show last night available for replay?

I agree with the decision btw, it is great to be able to get to know people and share in their lives, but if a group isn't dedicated to that then the content shouldn't be there. I am glad too that it will help make your jobs easier.

I think it's a good idea that the MeMe's and other blogs of a personal nature get transferred to the Stager's Coffee Clutch group.  I just checked - as of right now there are 150 members of the Stager's Coffee Clutch group.  Hopefully this will make more people join that group as well now.

Good morning Kimberly.  Really enjoyed listening to the program last night.  Do what you need to do to separate the blog types.  I think that anyone that knows how to get on and read/post blogs can easily figure out how to go from room to room to find and read what they want.  This is not a big chore.  I have at least 2 dozen different posting areas that I have joined and that I check out.  I don't find it real difficult to visit each.  It might be a good thing to research and publish a directory of sorts, showing all of the areas that stagers would be interested in and what those areas purpose is.  Give me the word and I have no problem helping with this...

Kathleen - You hit the nail on the head.  SIF exists to help us each promote our individual businesses and the staging industry at large.  Many of our members work very hard on their blogs and they ca get buried by posts that really don't accomplish what the group is about.  Thanks fr pointing that out.

Cari - ALL EXCELLENT QUESTIONS!!! Thanks for asking. :)

1. Moderators only have the ability to feature or delete posts.  We do not have the ability to edit, move, or alter your posts in any way.  We cannot even delete comments on a blog - that power is leftto the blogger and individual commenter. If a post is deleted from one group and you want to move it to another you must repost it yourself.

2. The post will automatically be deleted if deemed inappropriate and you will get a standard email from AR notifying you of the deletion and from which group it came.

3. You get points for posting the blog, not how many groups you post it to.  The limit of groups you can post to is 5, but you may choose only on if you'd like and the points remain the same.  You do not lse points for deletion - whether you choose to delete it or someone else does.

4. If you click through to Juliet's blog above, you can hear the replay there.

Thanks for understanding and giving me the opportunity to answer your questions.  I'm more than happy to answer more if you have them.  I think this helps everyone!

Charlene - Craig really wanted us to be able to bond with the personal posts without watering down what we do in SIF, hence the Coffee Clutch.  NONE of the posts there have to have anything to do with staging - just whatever we want to bond over and that is very cool.

Gary - It was so much fun!  I want to do it again! You are right.  It's not that hard to find the time if you want to do those things.  I don't get as much social time as I'd like because SIF takes most of my free time in general - and that's not much!  So this will reduce some of the posts I have to deal with and free me up to socialize (at least every other week).

Fernando-

Thanks for bringing those to our attention!  I had forgotten that those were available as well.  I think we will be working on a list of staging groups so that all of us know which ones are available and what posts are appropriate for each.  We will make sure to include yours.

I totally get it.  I have always posted more personal stuff in the Stagers Coffee Clutch if I still want to reach my Staging friends with more personal posts. Thank you for taking the time to moderate. This is the best group on AR that I have found.

Tori - Thank you so much for the compliment!  SIF is a great group and we are very lucky to have it!

Cheryl- I am so glad that so many are so accepting and understanding of the rules. It really does make it easier for us as as moderators to have everyone's support. Thank YOU!

I actually agree.... I would also like to see work left out of the Coffee Clutch for the same reasons.  I think it will be more work to click around, but I also think we'll learn more in the process & that is a good thing!

May I borrow this post for the newbie group:)??? Very nicely written. Couldn't be much more simple, one would think.

Kathy - Thanks for understanding and you are welcome!

Melissa - I'm with you!  There's no reason to venture out of a group if every other holds the same posts.  The coffee clutch is supposed to be a personal bonding area and should be respected as such.

Karen - Borrow away, link to it, whatever you need to do.  I'm happy to help. :)
