Clean your windows and keep them open in the daytime. Natural light is just as turning on indoor lights, and you cn save on your electric bill too.

Clean the coils under your refidgerator, stove and furnace. You can improve energy efficiency by cleaning the coils.

Clean your open A/C vents and close the ones that are in rooms that you do not need the direct air. Try closing the vents on the first floor to keep the second floor cooler. This rally help if you have a tile roof!

Great tips, advising sellers on little things like this will make you look good for them, and thats one of the names of the game.

Tina - good tips - but in Vegas there is NO way we can keep the windows open during the summer months.  We've been fortunate this year...so far I've only had to have the A/C on twice...once for 48 hours and the other time for about 5-6 hours.  But by this time next week I'm afraid it will be up over 105 for the rest of the summer.

Sacramento is another location where we close our windows in the morning and do not open until the sun goes down.  The cleaning tips are great.

I am going to add Cedar City to the list of closing windows during the summer, we would spend 3 times as much running the a/c as we do on lights!

Tina - 2 words for you: Spell Check! Also read my post today, I think maybe it may help you. You seem to be suffering from spellerhorificitusyoubeus. The phobia of correct spelling. Don't worry though there is help for you. I can't really benefit from your post today, because I don't know what a re-fid-gerator is.  I have a root cellar and everything is nice and cool down there. When it gets hot , me and Mose just go down there and hang out for awhile. I also have to disagree with the clean window tip. If you keep your windows dull and dingy, it helps to block unwanted UV rays and the harsh effects of the sun. It will also help defleck the heat too. You should try it, trust me, keep your windows dirty, you'll thank me for it.

P.S. I'll leave you Dr. Marvin's # in your voice mail.
