Fantastic janeAnne -- The house looks and sounds amazing. Creativity and utilizing eco friendly resources sounds like it paid off in the build of this beautiful home! Love that!
Thanks for another informative post. I hope that some of the developers in New Hampshire start to look into this type of opportunity. What at wonderful home.
I like saving as much as you can. I just lost 4 and looks like I am loosing 4 more trees. I believe it really is not all the droughts fault but the builders contractors not being careful during the build.
I am so amazed at the efforts in your area to be ECO friendly. I was in Boone last weekend and found many articles in local papers regarding perservation etc. No wonder you love living there! Not to mention how beautiful it is.

All as you say PLUS...you should see the special details inside! The hearth is hand-done with little riverstones and takes on an organic shape...everywhere in this home, I found craftsmanship.

If you can send some of the developers over here to the mountains of Asheville, there are tons of workshops and even a program that certifies them for green building.

I watched a tree fall in the valley recently. It was quiet. It surprised me. How different to see a tree fall in this way , not part of a clear cut situation...or having to be felled due to a developer's inexperience or lack of forethought.

Thanks! I do agree, Asheville is on the leading edge of GREEN...in many ways =)
