March is a great month to get out and explore all the unique events around Columbus and Central Ohio. This month is packed with shows, expos, and special events.
If you are looking to try something new or just break out from that winter cabin fever, March is the time! Check out some of our picks for stuff to do in Columbus this upcoming month.
For the Sports Fanatic - Arnold Sports Festival
The main event featuring over 22,000 athletes from 80 nations competing in over 80 events, the Arnold Sports Festival is a must-see for any sports or fitness enthusiasts! This city-wide event features sports displays in weightlifting, martial arts, swimming, gymnastics, ax throwing, disc golf and cheerleading just to name a few. There is, of course, a variety of bodybuilding and physique competitions
The Sports Festival runs from March 5-March 8 and is hosted at a variety of venues downtown. The Fitness Expo features over 1000 vendors and is the host of most of the main sports competitions. It is hosted at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
The Kids and Teen Expo is also going on from March 7-8 at the Bricker Building in the Fairgrounds. Admission for the Expo for kids under 13 is Free with an adult! The Kids and Teen Expo features demos from Columbus’ pro sports teams like the Blue Jackets, the Clippers, and the Eagles
A shuttle bus is available to Expo ticket holders to provide transportation around to the different venues. You can also avoid parking downtown and park at the fairgrounds where a shuttle bus provides transportation between the two expo sites.

For the Animal Lover- Columbus Pet Expo
Pets of all shapes and sizes come out to play at the Columbus Pet Expo. This event runs from March 13-15 and features two events at the Ohio Expo Center (The Fairgrounds)
A lot of shows featuring birds, rat basketball and wiener dog races along with vendors featuring products for all your four-legged friends

For Celebrating St. Patricks Day
In the suburb of Dublin, OH where “Irish is an Attitude” they host one mega St. Patricks’ Day party. Inflatables for the kids, pub crawls for the grown-ups and the grand parade on Saturday, March, 14 at 11:00 am
Later in the month, the Columbus Brew Fest takes over COSI for the night. This 21 and up event features dozens of local and domestic breweries, sampling their spring seasonal beers.
For Family Fun
The 70th Annual Shrine Circus runs from March 27-29 at the Celeste Center at the Fairgrounds. Ticket prices run from $7-27. This will be the last year the elephants will perform with the circus before they are retired.

Each year the Columbus International Auto Show rolls into town with displays of the latest and greatest models and automotive technologies. See all your favorite sports cars, sedans, SUVs, and minivans, go for a test drive or two, and take a walk down memory lane with the classics. It’s an auto show, and so much more!
