Friday Photo: An Abandoned Pink Bucket!

By 2:30 PM, when we got to the beach yesterday, the high tide was an hour into its rhythm to reclaim the sand it had spewed on shore.  When we first stepped on the beach, this hot pink bucket caught my attention.  Some child had left it behind.   In a few hours, the ocean would claim that bucket into its lair of waves..

Wayne Martin Our beach walks are health walks and head clearing walks.  We are hoping to get there this afternoon.  A

Brian England What a sweet thought.  It is pretty cold here this morning at 48 degrees, and cloudy so far.  If the waves spew that bucket back, I have a feeling that someone will pick it up and put it in the recycle bin.  A

Michael Jacobs The beach was pretty much deserted yesterday, and that pail was attesting that some child had been there yesterday.  The sand tractor was out taking the berm it built for the high winter tides in anticipation of Spring.  It is cold this morning 48 and cloudy...maybe we will see 63 degrees high...Happy Friday to you.  A

Hi Ron and Alexandra Seigel - Some child will eventually be looking for that bucket. But you were able to capture a very interesting scene.

I wonder what the bucket story is. Did a child lose the bucket and then leave the beach crying over his lost bucket? Did he give it to another child to use? Did his parents take it away, throw it in the garbage and someone else claimed it? Hmmm

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® My thought is that it would not be there today.  Hopefully, we will get back and see if the bucket came back.

Kat Palmiotti My imagined story is that the parent has so many things to pack up, and the child was dawdling, so the bucket was left behind...A

I love this picture, Alexandra... something very "haunting" about it. And I can totally imagine the incoming surf moving in and claiming it for its own.

Sweet photo. That bucket will likely bob along somewhere in the waves for a time.  Wonder if it will fall into the hands of another child at some point? Or as you mention, perhaps they'll return for it in time.

Nina Hollander You duplicated my feelings for this scene!  Perhaps this bucket will land on another shore and delighted a child somewhere.  A

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD we agree, and it would be nice to know that the bucket found its home with another child on another shore.  I always marvel at the vast Pacific having seen it from different shores, and the same for the Atlantic...I often think that we may have had gills at one time as we evolved...LOL A

Hi Ron And Alexandra- one of my favorite things about walking on the beach in Delray was discovering what may have been left there or washed ashore.

Kathy Streib Every morning, there is a tractor that clears the beach combing the sand.  I should ask the driver next time we are down there in the morning, what they do, if stuff comes back.  I have seen sea weed and driftwood mostly.  A
