"Individualism: The First Duty Of Man Is To Think

For Himself." ---Jose Marti

When I left my house this morning, Gas for Unleaded was $1.85 per gallon. I was in the wrong lane to pull over, so I thought I would wait until I came home. Lucky for me, prices dropped to $1.82. Sometimes, it pays to wait!

Currently, in Flower Mound, TX there are 223 active listings ranging in price from $220,000.00 to $10,900.000.00, of which 52 are one stories. By the time you wait until summer, do you think there will be more houses and less buyers, or more buyers and less inventory to choose? Why wait? Pick now!

The weathermen were wrong about having heavy rain all week. Yesterday and today we had blue sky and puffy, white clouds.

While waiting for the light to change, my mind was on thunderclouds, hail, and wind. March, April, May can bring in storms. Now is good time to make sure your trees don't need trimming, your roofs and gutters are in good shape, and that your home and auto insurance is paid and that you have adequate coverage. The time to find out is not after the storm. Avoid risk.

No. The sky isn't falling. This is the front door to the Drug Store. However, when you start seeing signs you never saw before, be aware. Be vigilant. Be careful. As I went to the RX counter, lots of shelves were empty and signs posted everywhere. I think I was the only customer. I thought to myself, what about the people with common colds, allergies, kids who always have runny noses? What about the people that need Kleenex because their hearts are broken and they need to cry? What will happen to the people with obsessive-compulsive disorders? No. I don't say panic. I don't believe in hoarding. But I can't ignore what's going on and pretend it isn't happening. Stay informed. Find credible resources, such as the Center for Disease Control.

I have to say, I do believe Jose Marti was right, "The first duty of man, is to think for himself."

I am stunned by the panic happening in the stores.  I am definitely taking precautions against the virus, but I think there is a secondary problem with the hoarding activity happening.  It's absurd.

Amen, sister. I saw yesterday some stores are hiring patrols to make sure people are only buying two packages of toilet paper and two sanitizers, etc. The sky is not, in fact, falling {although they are calling for more snow this weekend after almost 70° today }. Thank you for your entertaining post.

Chris Ann Cleland - I'm assuming, you're noticing it in your area too? If there is a secondary problem, I would call it GREED!

Chris Ann Cleland - It is TOTALLY nuts!!!

Thanks, and all the best to you. At this time of the year, nuts may not be good for you.

Mimi Foster - Hiring patrols??? That's INSANE!!! Limiting people to only buying 2 packages each is stupid. You know families aren't dumb and people aren't either. Where there is a will, there is a way.

So, you might get snow.... Hmm. If you do, I hope it will pretty snow and kids can get outside to play.

I'm glad you found my post entertaining . I tried hard to put things into perspective.  May you have the kind of day that puts smiles upon smiles on your face.

I'm totally aware but I do not panic, I leave that to others. Talking about gas prices though, you are lucky! Here it's $3.35 and up...

I like your Wednesday Edition of thoughts and comments, Patricia. Most definitely I agree with the  dictum, "The first duty of man is to think for himself." A lot of pain and angst would be removed from the world if all adhered to that.

Hi Patricia- the sky is not falling as long as we, as your quote suggested, use our heads. This morning I was listening to our Mayor Turner address the Toilet Paper shortage...he was incredulous!   BTW, they did end up closing the Houston Rodeo this afternoon.

Good morning, Patricia.. and here I thought I was doing well with our gas at $1.98 at Sam's Club. As for every man (or woman) thinking for himself... it never occured to me that one could survive without doing that. I hate anything trying to think for me.

I was in Houston last weekend for a wedding and I couldn't believe gas was $1.89 per gallon. We pay $2.89 per gallon and toilet paper is being rationed...

Patience is a virtue and your patience paid off in gas savings!  It really does seem like the sky is falling with this virus going around and shutting everything down.
