Maine Island on Virus Blockade Lifts Ban - North Haven Island, Maine

Yesterday, another domestic island community which had earlier joined the list of travel bans to domestic islands, made the decision to lift their ban.

North Haven Island, on Penobscot Bay in Maine, has a year-round population of 375. The North Haven Select Board voted to adopt the travel ban on Sunday, the fifteenth of March. On March 20, the travel ban was removed.

As I mentioned in my latest post, "Travel Blockades to Island Communities due to COVID-19 virus fears", we are now aware of two domestic island communities around the United States which recently adopted travel/access restrictions. If you are aware of any other domestic U.S. islands which are either contemplating such restrictions or have imposed them (or have lifted earlier travel bans), please contact me at madelineisland@gmail.com]
