Solid Waste Continues Normal Schedule

 

The Department of Public Works announces they will be
maintaining their regular daily collection schedule
during the COVID-19 situation.

After entering your street address, you'll receive a calendar as the answer:

 

 

Contact DPW to schedule Bulk collection.

What is "Bulk" collection?

 

"A maximum of 8 cubic yards (approximate size of a minivan or room of
furniture) will be collected. Approved items must be separated and located
in one pile in the right-of-way. 

" Bulk Waste typically includes at least 2 to 3 large household items (such
as furniture) or a White Goods (appliances). It also includes bulk yard 
trimmings (such as tree trunks and branches NOT exceeding two feet in
diameter and four feet in length)."

 

NOTE: DPW events and other collections - such as the city-wide scrap tire amnesty program and the special Atlanta recycles program - are being rescheduled. More info here.

2020 SOLID WASTE HOLIDAY COLLECTION SCHEDULE

  • New Year's Day, Jan. 1, 2020 | Waste collection is delayed one day for the remainder of the week.
    * Friday collection will be picked-up on Saturday, January 5. 
  • MLK Day, Jan. 20 | Waste collection is delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

  • Memorial Day, May 25 | Waste collection is delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

  • Independence Day, July 4 | Waste collection is delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

  • Labor Day, Sept. 7 | Waste collection is delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

  • Veterans Day, Nov. 11 | No change to the solid waste collection schedule.

  • Thanksgiving, Nov. 26 | No collection on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27.

  • Christmas Day, Dec. 25 | Waste collection is delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

  • New Year's Day, Jan. 1, 2021 | Waste collection is delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

Lynn it would be a problem if they were to stop Solid Waste Collection.  That would create a number of other serious issues.  So it is good it has been classified as an essential service.
