How have Schaumburg Home Showings changed since COVID-19?

By
Real Estate Agent

There are many things that are happening in the Schaumburg Area Real Estate Market & some are very good. Showings have been impacted (graph is Illinois) but I wanted to show that not all real estate has stopped dead in its tracks.

We have had many transactions already in the works & they have closed successfully. So this graph shows that showings so far over these last few weeks have been down by 22% across IL. Following the end of the month, we will get another number but don't forget that this has never happened before in any market.

Another surprising figure that I hope will continue into the Spring Market is that homes are still selling over list price. According to CoreLogic, 29% of homes sold so far this year are selling over their listing prices. Obviously, this was before COVID-19 but housing is still competitive & buyers are still clamoring to get their new house as predicted.

So I am here with any real estate numbers, stats or questions that you might have. I'd be happy to answer your questions.

Thanks for the update Lyn, fewer buyers out an about, yet those who are looking are likely very serious about buying.

We still are having good activity. We really don't know what to expect I think so 20% down is not bad.

Good morning Lyn. Serious buyers are out there. Some sellers are pressed to sell. The knowledgeable agent knows how to make pairs. Enjoy your day!

Good morning, Lyn... the first half of our March didn't show much change. I have a feeling that some of our momentum will be down once last week's and this week's numbers are out. In my area, we have been labelled as a non-essential busines/service and in-person home showings are prohibited. I've seen a number of properties, including two in my own neighborhood, withdraw from market for the time being.

I didn't realize that showing time provides information like that - our market stats are monthly and I am more interested in what is happening weekly - I will check out showingtime.  thanks

Lise, they sent me the graph. I had never received one but they do send me monthly various reports.

Good to hear that your experiences have been positive ones regarding getting to the Closing table, Lyn Sims ... as mine have been the same.  Definitely a few more hoops to jump thru at times, but all but one has ended successfully.  The one that didn't close. came to an abrupt halt for other reasons that had nothing to do with the virus challenges.  We'll keep our fingers crossed that this remains true moving forward ...

Thanks Gene. You're a great loan officer in our area & do your own fair share of closings. It's great when they are problem free but that's not always the case.
