I am happy to have just been certified as Forclosure Prevention Consultant. This is the final step in RE/MAX approved supplier Roger Butchers' course, which was designed to train agents to deal with Loss Mitigation and Short Sales, when necessary.
With of the rapid expansion of the Short Sale market, misunderstanding and confusion are commonplace in the market today. Roger Butcher has created a company to first, mitigate loan modifications between lenders and homeowners prior to foreclosure. As a Certified Foreclosure Prevention Consultant it is my responsibility to locate and work with home owners who are in the foreclosure process or facing foreclosure. Many homeowners at risk of foreclosure are not aware of the many options that are available to them. Therefore they do nothing. Fear sets in and fear is increased by poor advice from well-meaning but uneducated friends. To avoid foreclosure, it is often possible to work with the lender to negotiate a Forbearance, Partial Claim or Loan Modification.
I am looking forward to working in this field. Although Loss Mitigation is a definitely not a bread winner, it is an opportunity to return to the community a valuable service during this difficult time in the real estate market. If we can help someone save their home simply by passing along our knowledge, isn't that a great service?
Now that I have received my certification, I am ready to help anyone who owns Amelia Island real estate and who is facing foreclosure or short sale.
