Congratulations to my son, Darron James Burrows for graduating from Sierra Vista High School on June 10, 2008 with an advanced diploma (the blue cord.)

Darron will be attending CSN for one year, followed by UNLV for one or two more years (as a film major) and then hopefully UCLA or USC to finish it off.  Darron has stayed out of trouble, graduated with honors and has been writing film scripts since elementary school. (Where would he get that from?  go figure!)

His daddy (my dear hub of 19 years), sister, grandparents, aunts and uncles could not be more proud of his academic achievements and goals.

Yea, my rusty tear ducts turned into an overflowing dam on that day :)

I know everyone says it but it seems like just yesterday.....................................

REnee ~ Thanks for sharing your pictures and day!  I have a couple of weeks until my son's; but I still have to get through his 18th birthday - Monday!  So, should I bring a whole box of tissues to the graduation?

Congrats Renee to you, your son, and your family.  Our daughter is only 16 months old, but time sure is flying with her.  You deserve to be able to boo-hoo!  Enjoy it!!

Renee:

Congratulations, and to your sone, too. So exciting. USC has a fabulous reputation for the film industry. My daughter went there (not for film) adn loved it. My other daughter is heading there for grad school this fall. Hey, it's only 5 hours from LV.

Congrats and I'm sure you are so proud. BTW you're allowed to shed the tears. I plan on doing it Saturday when my first-born granddaughter gets married. Don't know how she can be "so old" when I'm still younger than her mother.

Renee, you can't be old enough to have a son graduating from high school! We attended our second grandson's graduation in Saugus, California on the 5th. Very exciting to see them grow so much. ;-)

Renee - congratulations to you, your husband and Darron in his earning his dipoloma!  It's not easy to get though high school these days without some kind of trouble...the fact that he made it speaks volumes for you and your hubby (and Darron of course).  I've been there 4 times...it ain't easy to see our babie's grow up.

Kimberly:  thank you for the well wishes!

Kathy:  LOL, just a half a box will suffice!

Dan:  LOL to you too!  Ain't that the truth

Kara:  Too funny!  If we would have turned another angle it would have had the strip in the background.  His graduation was at UNLV.

John:  TRUE THAT!

David & Kristin:  Treasure every moment.  It seriously seems just like yesterday :)

Jeff:  He has definitely done his research in regards to USC.  Luckily one of my former bosses told him that his daughter went out there and ended up back at UNLV.  His advice was to do it backwards, UNLV first and then USC second.

Mara:  What an awesome accomplishment!  Is he out in the Nevada desert with all the other geologists looking for water right now?  What an impact you can have on people's lives with that type of degree.

Linda:  So true so true!  I relished the moment and made it a huge deal with a huge party just days prior.  Usually I am a scheduler so it is "get through this, get through that" but we all treasured that day!

Konnie:  Congrats to him too!

Elaine:  ROFL!

Terrie:  Thanks for stopping by and the kind comment :)

Cindy:  He was a bad toddler but sure grew up to be a fine young man :)

William:  Thanks for bringing up the mother's curse!  (not) I have avoided it so far but I fear that is when it is going to strike!  I want grandkids but maybe not quite yet :)]

Missy:  It's so rough.  I guess I am worried that his sister won't graduate so maybe that's why I shed the tears..LOL!

Larry:  We are very proud!  It's been a rough year with our other child so hopefully she sees that it is worth it to get her butt in gear to have a week to shine in the spotlight and get so much attention for such a great accomplishment.

Juliana:  Thank you thank you.  I feel old enough, how about that :)

Teri:  Ok, tables turned, ditto on the grandchild front

Tracy:  This year will fly by as I remember reading the graduation posts last year and they seem like yesterday!  Good luck to your daughter!

Lisa:  Congrats to you too!

Bob Volanti:  Thanks for stopping by and the kind words :)

Ahhh Mary:  You probably understand all of the challenges that living in this area can convolute a child.  I am happy that child #1 made it ok but the second waiting in his wings is providing us a little heartache!

Susie:  Thanks for the warm wishes!

Paddy:  OH YES.  I think that is the hardest part.

Neal:  AWWW you are making me feel young again.  True story, when I got into real estate here people would ask if I have kids.  Yea.  THen How old?  I would tell.  Then nuh uh.  I would say uh huh.  Then:  how old are you?  when did you get married?  when did you have your children?  I just started carrying an old picture around when Darron was three and heather was one so they would quit the interrogations!

Bob Mitchell:  Thanks for the assurances.  I know I need to let him go and he is such a fine young man that I need to share him with the world.  I always want him to know who momma and daddy are but don't want to be one of those overbearing mother in laws when that day comes

Congrats and I know you are proud.  I already told my husband that if our 3 yr old decides to go away to college that is fine but I am going too.. I can't even think about that yet because it already gets me homesick for my baby.       I still have several years to get used to the idea. :)

Congradulations, it is a wonderful thing to watch your "BABY" graduate, I just got back last week from my Granddaughter's High School Graduation, I can't wait for the College one.
