Each Sunday morning, I wake up looking forward to a message from Jasen Edwards. Today more than usual. 

 

I was wondering about today's radio topic.

Enough with the COVID-19 and things to do while being shut-in. Talking about my unique listings did not seem appropriate. So the ON AIR light comes on in the studio, and the show was live.

 

It has been a long couple of days and a very lonely night...the first night I slept alone since my Lee died almost six years ago. Yesterday I buried my Phoebe, and I didn't write a blog or plan for today's radio show.

Today, April 5 is also the anniversary of Phoebe coming into our lives in 2011, 9 years ago. I would like to celebrate Phoebe's life.


But with so much stress, talking about my beautiful cat seemed insignificant. But I did it anyway. 

 

 Maybe, just maybe, it will help someone else.

Hi Margaret,

I am so for the loss of your beloved Phoebe. It is very important to talk about her and to celebrate her life, she was a part of your life and your fur baby. In our home our pets are a part of our family and it is never easy losing a family member. We lost our sweet, sweet dog a few months ago and we are still grieving him.

Sometimes I go and take my thoughts with me (I use the beach, I have not been in a radio studio in 45 years.) I soon open a world of memories which sooth my stress and anxiety. I remember all my pets, they give me joy and peace.

The beauty comes from my memories and they are all good. Time has purged all the bad out of my mind. 

I am refreshed just writing about it...

Margaret my heart goes out to you - we know when we get a pet that their lives are not as long as ours and that we will have to say goodbye but it is never any easier when the time comes.  I lost my dog in October after three months of illness and it was dreadful for those three months.  I didn't last a month before I got a new standard poodle.  I couldn't stand how quiet the house was.   I think it is unfair that a shark or a tortoise lives for as long as it does and a cat or a dog is only with us for such a short time!  Who wants a shark for forty years when they could have a dog or a cat! Hugs
