A little over 2 years ago, I switched offices after being at one office over 15 years.  One of the best things I did to get the word out ???? I bought several golf shirts in the office color and had the office logo digitalized (for $25).  I then took the digital image to the local monograming shop and had the office logo embroidered on my shirts with my first name underneath.  She now has the image on file and I can get them customized for about $6 each.

Even 2 years later I still wear them most days because I learned in the process it is a great conversation starter.  No matter where I go someone will start asking real estate questions giving me a reason to hand them a business card.

Earleene - great idea...but wouldn't a nice name tag worked just as well?  It is also less expensive.  Just a thought..

Naoma,

I just felt like by using the office colors (which is light yellow and black) I was branding myself and where I was now located.  I also have a name tag, but is seems people notice the shirts more....also makes the clothes tax deductible  :-)

Hi Earleene,

I like the idea of the embroidered golf shirts. We get them all the time for my husband to wear, but it is our own logo. Did you have to get permission from the company first to use the logo on your shirts?

I know some companies only let you buy logo shirts from their own sources sometimes and can be touchy about what it's used on.

Having your first name on the shirt is also a good idea, especially for informal events. People can feel more comfortable approaching you (and the ones that have met you but might have forgotten your name have a reminder-LOL!).

Well, we are not a franchise so my broker-owner is thrilled for me to wear them.  I felt the name just helped to reinforce the fact of where I work and tied them together.  The office I left is the top office in town (transaction wise) and I had been with them over 15 years so I really had to work had to tie my name with the new company.
