Whoosh There Goes An Onomatopoeia

I would like to say "learned something new today" but I doubt I will remember this word tomorrow. (that may be too generous. probably won't remember it in an hour.)

I had to click on the link to learn the meaning of onomatopoeia. Thanks for the interesting lesson.

HI Michael Jacobs - Thank you for opening my mind to a new word.  Chances are I will never pronounce it correctly so I probably won't use it much. (Opps!)

Hi Michael- while I knew of the word, I had not used it in ages. It does roll off the tongue nicely though. Once social distancing has eased, it might be a fun word to try to fit into a conversation at a cocktail party. Although, since I don't attend cocktail parties...does anyone have those still...I won't' have a chance to use it. 

Michael Jacobs - One of the good things that came out Cartoon Artists' imagery in comic books, strips, and scripts too was the use of bold onomatopeia's that filled up a child and/or an adults imagaination with sound, motion, and words! It's a great word!!!

I am always dumbfounded on how you come up with so many topics to write about...

FYI... onomatopeia (pronounced like it is spelled) is a common word used in Spelling Bee's. That's how I learned how to spell it. It's a good word!

Frankly, I don't recall of ever hearing that word before now. Of course, I can't remember some of the things I did yesterday

Even the word onomatopoeia is fun to say - and then to think of words that meet the definition is so relaxing! Snap, crackle, pop!  

Why am I seeing reruns of the old Batman TV show?  I always liked the sound of this word, but always need to look up the spelling. That's why I didn't write it out here. I'd have to scroll all the way back up to your post from #32 in the comment section.  Lol. Alas, I'm at a loss for a word for scrolling up a screen.  

Michael, have never heard of that word, so thanks for sharing, but not sure I can use it in a sentence.  LOL
