This is My Happy Place
Each month or special holiday, I decorate a chest that sits in my foyer to celebrate the season/holiday. In hopes that the quarantine would be lifted by Easter, decorated as I always do. We always have a houseful of family and friends in for the weekend and Easter Sunday is a big day in our home.
I will admit to waking up a little down - in fact, we slept in this morning. We awoke in time to listen to services online but, regardless, the family wasn't going to be here after services...I wasn't feeling very 'happy.' After services, I unloaded the dishwasher from last night and returned my good dishes to the dining room (we had dinner in the dining room last night to change it up a bit!). Passing by this little painted wooden sign, it literally stopped me in my tracks!
YES, this IS my happy place and spending Easter Sunday, watching virtual services and phoning and Zooming family & friends for the day was NOT the end of the world! Why on earth I allowed a pity party to go on in my head is beyond me! My heart is full of gratefulness for the many blessings in my life...including my home, which is my happy place.
