Having A Really Good Day!

By
Real Estate Agent

I’m having a really good day! After 12 days of self-isolation at home, it was time for me to drop something off at the post office, visit an ATM, and go to the grocery store.

In addition to procuring toilet paper and paper towels, I was able to toss a really nice Salmon fillet into the cart!

As I strolled down the adult beverages aisle, a lingering question lurking in the back of my mind came to the forefront. I like dark beer. I usually buy either Dos Equis Amber, or Modelo. Which of the two I purchase usually comes on whim, because I’ve never decided which one I really like best. I haven't carved out a tasting session with the two side by side. So, into the cart went a six pack of each!

Anyway, back to my story! This morning in addition, to the Salmon fillet, fresh asparagus, and other food items, I went out into the garden area and loaded a half dozen tomato plants.

Once home, after unloading everything, I switched into my garden wear, dug up space in my backyard, and planted the tomatoes in warm sun! There is nothing more hopeful than viewing a freshly planted garden plot! I hosed off my dirty shoes and feet, slipped into the shower and cleaned up. There was nothing left to do but grill the Salmon fillet and asparagus and cook up a little Brown Rice with Quinoa for a late lunch.

Once cooked to delight, I reached in the refrigerator and popped the cap on a bottle of Dos Equis, in addition to one of Modelo. I just had to know, once and for all, which of the two I like best!

I’m a lightweight drinker. My family all knows this. But, since I’m alone and back to self-isolating, and because I’m not apt to do anything inappropriate which could embarrass them, these rare two bottles of beer I’ve consumed aren’t likely to get into mischief. I just wanted to let you know, the Salmon was great, and I’ve decided Dos Equis Amber is my favorite. It’s a tad more mellow than Modelo.

There’s nothing left that I need do, but watch Judge Judy and then take a nap. Please, please, don’t let there be another White House Coronavirus news conference to interrupt Judge Judy! It would ruin an otherwise perfect day!

Good morning, Myrl... your delight with your day came through loud and clear in each sentence! I know how you feel about having Judge Judy pre-empted by corona virus updates... I feel that way about my General Hospital... for some reason our Governor feels this needs to be done between 2 and 3 pm. Why not at 1 pm I ask.

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat
I loved reading about your perfect day. I love that you spoiled yourself. Tell me Judge Judy was NOT interrupted. I need to get out and get some sunflowers planted. They always bring me delight during the summer.  Happy Wednesday!

That is indeed a very good day!  I am glad that you decided to do the taste test and I am more of a Dos Equis guy myself.

Myrl if you are a light drinker, than I would say a nap is very much in order after the dual beverage

Melinda (Mel) Peterson - I almost decided not to plant a garden this year.  However, when push came to shove, I couldn't refrain from doing so.

Sharon Lee - There are 6 different kinds - Cherry tomatoes, Orange Cherry, Roma, Early Girl, etc.

Nina Hollander - Our governor has a way of cutting off the noon news.  It's more difficult to get the local news until evening because of it.  But, missing Judge Judy is almost as bad as my missing swimming because the health center is closed.

Roy Kelley - Back at ya, Roy!

Carol Williams - I thought I was going to skate by and see her.  We get a solid hour of her here from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm.  I was right in the middle of an episode, when a quarter after the hour, here came that booming noise announcement that the news conference was about to begin.  I almost threw a shoe at the TV.

Brian England - Dos Equis really is a pretty darn good beer.  I also like Anderson Valley Bourbon Barrel Stout.  But, at over $10.00 for a 22 oz. bottle, I save it for special occassions, like when the Pandemic is over.

George Souto - A nap is a good way to restrain any unacceptible behavior!  My cats accept my snoring!

Ron and Alexandra Seigel - There is nothing finer that Dos Equis with Mexican food.  Just curious though. . .Do you put it in the chili, or drink it along with the meal?

When I was in Hollywood going to school, we would hang out at Carlos n Charlie's and at Christmas time, Dos Equis puts out NocheBuena which is the 'bottom of the barrel' and very rich . . . I'm no longer a beer drinker but man that was some good stuff! :D

And I gotta feature this for the salmon fillet alone!

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS - I've had a good amount of good days during this stay at home order, Paul.  I only need think about those on the front lines of this pandemic to stop feeling anything else.

Candice A. Donofrio - I've not heard of NocheBuena by Dos Equis.  I'll keep an eye out for it.  Thanks for the feature in Bartender Make it a Double.

Have to admit ... I think you should be my personal shopper, Myrl Jeffcoat ... the beer (both kinds), salmon, and asparagus all were things I LOVE!  Glad you put the beer of choice question to rest ... good choice!

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat - Now that is the way to enjoy a day!  After all, if a tree falls down in a forest where no one is around, does it make a sound?  The same goes for beer-drinking!! If there is no one there to see you...

What a great story. I just Pat Champion's post about planting a garden and will give the same answer. Not for me but if the produce scarcity here in the Bay Area continues, who knows. cheers cvc
