This is unprecedented times that we have never seen before. Some households are ordered to "stay at home" with parents working from home, and children at home needing to do school work. I personally could not imagine trying to do all this and having to keep the kiddos busy and out of trouble too.
The BEST example of helping others was in my very own neighborhood. I have many elderly neighbors and many have underlying conditions. I don't, so I ask all of those I know what they need at the grocery store before I go. Sure feels good to know they don't have to get out and possibly contract this awful disease. We have already had a few ambulances this past couple of weeks, and hope they are OK.
Shortly after the mandated "stay at home" orders, I started texting those in my contact list - friends, clients, industry partners, etc. I heard no one with COVID positive results, and luckily, no one KNEW of anyone with it. BUT, did hear a couple of my clients had been diagnosed with cancer, one had surgery, the other was on the schedule for surgery. Some texted back, but some called me, and was so nice to chat.
I heard from some of my clients that were nervous about paying their mortgage due to losing their jobs, so it felt good just to listen to them. Some may be calling to list in the near future.
Some of my favorite REALTOR friends are becoming so frustrated with the business, clients, etc. and need to talk. But NOT to clients, they can call me to vent, as we should be strong, and positive in these times. We are so used to getting together once a month, we have talked about doing a "Google Hangout" happy hour, just to see everyone. I was going to have a Zoom meeting, but the free account only allows for 40 minutes. That would not be long enough for us! Another friend said maybe meeting for a hamburger or coffee and parking close but 6 feet away, and getting caught up. We have shared options on how to get listings shown, when we are not allowed to have "in-person" showings at this time. We also keep each other updated on new rules that hit the industry, as they were coming out almost daily.
It has given us time to take webinars, learn new techniques and programs, and some have attained new designations and/or certifications. All helpful to our future business!
