The Plan for the Return to a New Normal

Hopefully, all of your Zoom meetings, virtual showings, and other creative real estate strategies are going well.  Now that many states are implementing the New Normalroll-out for re-opening, the question is, what is your plan for the return to the new normal.

The real question is to define what a new normal looks like. First, I believe this pandemic has changed our world in many ways. Attention to sanitizing protocols, how we greet one another, and methods we use to communicate most likely will continue for quite some time.

For some of us, we have recognized cost-saving communication methods and many are re-evaluating their physical office needs and staffing. We have had to learn how to continue our businesses in a very different world. This really has been a great time to re-assess how we have been doing our business.

Here are a few tips as we look toward returning to a new normal:

 1. Evaluate the areas of your business that you have needed to let go of during the quarantine. Are there any areas of your marketing, hard costs, or programs that you can do without?

2. How important is your physical business address? We have an office on our historic Square that brings us a lot of walk-in traffic. For me, we will continue to hold onto our physical space. Others may find they do not need to continue to incur this type of cost.

3. Does your marketing look the same in the new normal? Taking a minute to evaluate the marketing you did prior to the pandemic may look different as we get back to work in this new environment. It may be time to do something entirely new and fresh.

Change does not always have to be a bad thing.  What we are all experiencing can be an opportunity to refresh our businesses. We can also re-charge during this time in order to hit the ground running when we receive a true - "go" for business.

Wishing you all safety and success as we begin to emerge from this historic time.

Hi Paula, I kind of like the cleansing protocol to our new normal.  Especially when it comes to food prep/handling.  As for our office, we will continue with our bricks and mortar building, mostly because our agents love it.  Most of my best work is done from home, without distractions, but I recognize that our agents still feel the need to come into the office for water cooler connections.

Morning Paula.

I believe that by this time next year, if not before, there will be a vaccine.  All of this will fade into history

The new normal requires adaption to our targeted market and determine which tools we''ll need to increase production with effective and efficient systems.

My concern was that consumers wouldn't accept virtual platforms but because of the pandemic, I believe that perception has changed dramatically.

Employing Slack Zoom, TeamViewer or Remote PC platforms are the new normal IMO, however, it's also a learning process to determine what platform produces the  best results. So, now is the time to investigate what works best for your businesses and adopt it, if it would work for you.

This is definately the time to step back and reevaluate marketing, promotions, etc.  That's one reason I like AR--so many good solid ideas from other agents!
