Helping Each Other in the ActiveRain Community
Roy Kelley has been in the Rain long enough to know how things should go. I support those that support me both in real life and in the Rain.
Helping Each Other in the ActiveRain Community
"Write a post sharing how we are showing the positives of real estate right now, how professionals can help each other, their community, and of course, clients, including buyers and sellers." This is the April contest challenge from ActiveRain Ambassador Margaret Rome
If you follow my blog posts on a regular basis, you know that I have written hundreds of posts about many aspects of our home community, our county and our home state of Maryland.
For this post, I have decided on how to focus on helping and supporting our fellow members of ActiveRain. Many of our members are doing their best during this stressful time and some extra kindness and positive support is definitely in order. I do not know how much longer I will be an active member but will recommend some of the things that I have been doing for a number of years.
When you receive a comment on one of your posts, try to reciprocate by leaving a comment on one of the other member's posts. Set a goal of leaving 20 comments each day. When you follow this practice for a period of time, you will develop closer relationships with members with common interests. 'Like' the blog posts as you leave comments to allow those members to earn a few more points.
Make it a habit to post a daily reblog. The reblogs allow us to share the experience and advice provided by other real estate professionals. My practice is to schedule reblogs in advance as I identify interesting posts.
Follow some additional members every day. I have made it a habit to follow a minimum of five of the new members each day. I also follow those who have made comments on my posts and the posts of others that I read. When you read a first time blog post, leave a positive comment of support and offer suggestions when appropriate.
If you have time, answer some of the questions posed in the Q&A section. And, try to resist making negative comments when you are in this section.
Set a good example by providing positive and helpful information about your home community and the activities in your home area. I have written about many local events and about programs available in our city and county.
Take good care of yourself and your family during this pandemic. Dolores and I have been following the Stay at Home mandate and the social distancing advice that has been provided.
