Are we Essential -- Or Not?

By

Our "stay at home" orders were supposed to expire on Sunday 4/26, but all counties in the metro area with the exception of three counties that are outside the metro area aways.    There is some confusion about whether or not we can show homes.   The Attorney General had put those orders in place a few weeks ago, which did expire Sunday 4/26, but the counties have not specified whether we can show or not.    The local news station has repeatedly said we CAN, so yesterday and today my phone has rung like crazy.

In a bit, there is another attorney that will HOPEFULLY specify if we are essential now or not!

I feel your pain! We have gone through the same thing here in Monterey County, CA.  They keep changing the rules.  Right now I can't show a home to more than 2 people of the same family,  and  it can't be staged and the occupant can't live there--they have to be out with no intention to return. We hope to see a change on May 3 when this round of "sheltering in place" is over with.

Hi Joan Cox fortunately, our Governor considers us essential....we are working....

but the Governor just announced that our "sheltering in place" rule is in force through May 18th.... he's right by the book.... we need 14 days of declining numbers..... not leveled off numbers but declining....

I think we'll be hunkering down well into June!!!!

Our stay at home mandate runs through May 6th. Our governor just opened construction sites to start work however there is a lot of caveats or hurdles to jump before you hear any hammers. We can show houses now but only 2 people can be in the residence at one time and they have to social distance...

Better than nothing, which we had up until a week ago...

At least our pot shops never were affected for some odd reason???

Happy Tuesday Joan Cox

Hella M. Rothwell, Broker/Realtor® it is tough to know what to do (or not) when rules change daily, and now they change by county too.

Barbara Todaro we had a really STUPID agent try to get a tenant out of a home when they had positive results, and they called our RE Commission, and all of our "essential" abilities were lost.  Stay safe.

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS isn't that funny!  Our pot shops and liquor stores were closed for 2 hours, think the City about went CRAZY.   Lots of rules by county and tough to keep up with them.

Michael, changes are tough to keep up with when they come from everywhere - Governor, RE Commision, AG and the Health Department.

James, we are seeing hot spots in the prison in Sterling, nursing homes and meat packing plants.

Such a sad state of affairs, so many people not allowed to work and unable to pay their bills.  The stimulus is actually comical, does the government really think they are bailing people out by giving them $1,200?

Hi Joan... we had our orders extended to May 8th from April 29th. There are rumors, however, that Mecklenburg County will let us be considered essential sooner than that... we've had the most onerous restrictions in NC.

I'm sorry about the agent who did that and ruined it for all. I'm amazed it hasn't happened here as there are plenty of greedy agents ignoring our strict guidelines. I've heard some crazy stories.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD there still could be stupid antics happening in your area too, just no one has gotten caught.    We are able to show in certain counties now.

Michelle, it is still about as clear as mud.   The county I live in is the question for everyone in the metro Denver area.

Just because one low-life agent screwed up, we all had to pay.
