This is another day where I am sharing a little of my past growing up in England. Every year the Guards regiments Troop the Colour, which is the flag carrying all their battle honors. This music from the Grenadier Guards has also been going through my heads. I read that the Queen has asked for there to be no Trooping the Colour this year to celebrate her birthday. I hope you enjoy this pagenatry and music from last year. Thomas J. Nelson, Realtor e-Pro, CRS, RCS-D, Vets I know as you put it I defected, but this does make my chest swell with pride.
What many of you may not know was that I volunteered and arrived at Sandhurst, our equivalent to West Point, to train as a junior officer in The Devon & Dorset Regiment, however, an old rugby injury, played up and I never graduated, being mdeically released from the British Army. This next piece would have been my regimental march.
This last piece of music is something I will always remember, again not sure how well known this movie was in the States, but it is a famous movie with many wonderful movie stars who are no longer with us and the music was very moving, Bridge over the River Kwai. It is known as the Colonel Bogey March. The Japanese would not allow prisoners to sing as it might raise morale, the British whistled.
Have a wonderful weekend, not sure where we are going musically tomorrow, I hope you enjoyed these moments today.
