Grant Schneider hi Grant, our painter is coming over on Tuesday to look at my porch floor which needs a paint job. Fortunately no walkways to paint... just to pressure wash.

Pollen is a problem here now too. The wind doesn't help. I've been having to clean my walkway and courtyard of blossoms and other debris daily.

Carol Williams our pollen arrived early this year. I cleaned off my front porch a couple of weeks ago, but still haven't gotten to the screened porch... hate that "job" so much.

Endre Barath, Jr. same here in my household, Endre. I had to teach my husband many years ago how to change a light bult (seriously). We have learned to have wonderful handymen/contractors in our lives who take very good care of us.

You remind me, we need to stain our deck this Spring. We replaced the cedar boards last fall, and wanted it to weather a bit before staining, per the experts.

Hi Nina Hollander, much of the maintenance items are done by a handyman, what would I do without him? This is a great list for all of us. Have an awesome weekend!

Beth Atalay hi Beth... same here... but first people need to know what should be done whether they do it themselves or not. And I find an awful lot of deferred maintenance when speaking with prospective sellers.

Endre Barath, Jr. at least you can do that. I once sent my husband around the corner in Paris to pick something up from the grocer... he got lost for 45 minutes and came home with nothing. That should have been a 10 minute trip.

Then there was the time when I was in NYC visiting family when we lived in Abu Dhabi. In the middle of the night in NY he called me to ask how to heat something up. I told him to turn the oven on to 350 degrees and then put the dish in for 30 minutes. 15 minutes later, just as I was falling asleep again the phone rang again... it was Chris asking me which appliance was the oven!

You couldn't make up this stuff! :)
