If you live in Seattle area or you are visiting Washington state in April- May, consider going to the Tulip valley. It is an amazing experience and an opportunity to take some great photos. Every year the blooming time changes according to the weather. Some years fields were blooming in the last two weeks of April. This year they were blooming until middle of May.

It takes 1 hour and 20 minutes from Seattle by I-5 North. In the valley you will see a lot of small signs pointing to the tulip fields. Also there some farms that do flower shows and you have to buy a ticket to get inside. Do it, you will not regret it. They offer an amazing variety of tulips from around the world and you will take some impressive photos.

I had read about the tulip festivals out there and would love to come some time.  I have been to Washington state (in the Seattle area) twice and I love its beauty.

I have wanted to come to the tulip festival for the last couple of years. How is the traffic from Seattle?

I would have thought the tulips would be out in March there. I can understand why they were late this year. The weather has been cold this spring.

 Isn't the festival in March?

Julie, festival is in the end of April. Traffic is totally fine, it takes just over an hour to get there. So, please, do go to the valley during next April. You will be amazed!

Irina ~ I don't think that the Tulip Fesitval happened this year. The folks in Skagit Valley experiances some cold weather and rain and the tulips didn't have the big bloom as usual. It is too bad. I only live 20 minutes north of La Conner and I usually try to take some photos.

Ryan Martin, I went to the valley this year and there were plenty of bloom. It was much later that last year, but they still had tons of people coming there. You live in a beautiful area.

Irina ~ Is that so... I figured that they bagged it because they miss the official start time. I suppose that they had to bloom sometime ;) How is "T" treating you? My mother's family all still lives in Tacoma.

Ryan, Tacoma is like a little moody teenager. Has a lot of potential, but is still looking for it's strength. Do you come here to visit your family? What do you think about it?

By the way, I like your Photoshop blogs. They look like yuo take some time to write it.

Mister, RJH. Are you kidding? July and tulips never met each other, so you will see a different show.

Irina ~ That is a very good analysis of Tacoma. Yes, I occasionally come down to visit. I also have a friend from college that works out of Gig Harbor.

In regard to Photoshop, thank you. I have been working with Photoshop for 6 years now and have learned a lot of tricks. It seems that one thing leads to another with Photoshop and the learning curve is very exponential.

Thank you for commenting on my posts. I just added you as an associate. It is always good to know a good agent in Tacoma :D
