Four Ways to Pass Time and be Productive as a Self-Starter Real Estate Agent

Real Estate Technology with IXACT Contact Real Estate CRM

The weather is only getting better outside and things are starting to look up. But, it is still too early to go about your usual activities. Your favorite retail spots are still closed, a lunch with potential clients is out of the question and you can’t really go watch the latest movie you were keen on seeing. Why not make use of this time and be more productive. This does not mean you have to wake up at 7 am, get your coffee, and start working, everyday. You can have your own routine and this could just work for you. Here are a few ideas to pass time and be productive as a self-starter real estate agent.

1. Start your Day at the Same Time Everyday

If you wake up at 7 am on Monday, then noon on Tuesday and then 11 am on Wednesday, you are putting your body through alot. You will be out of focus, unable to get started on pending items, and you could miss out on alot. Start your day the way you have always been used to, before you were on lockdown mode. If that is 10 am or 11 am, then so be it. At least your are carrying on about your daily activities and responsibilities as you always were.

2. Compose a List

Whether it is braving out into the world and getting groceries, finally cleaning your workspace, vaccuming, or even getting to those prospects you’ve been meaning to call. Get it done! That doesn’t mean you need to do everything all in one day. You will wear yourself out. Instead, spread everything out. That includes your database too. If you need to call 10 of your contacts, space everything out within the span of a few days. This way you will be more organized, disciplined, and not overwhelmed.

3. Go on Social Media

We’ve been preaching this time and time again. Stay active on your social media. Your contacts have more time than ever right now. Take advantage of this time by connecting with them online. Post some interesting content on your Facebook or Instagram. You can record yourself and make 30-second videos with messages to your followers. Always remember to interact with your followers by responding to comments, answering your direct messages and commenting on all reviews, not just the negative ones. If you are stuck and do not know what content to post, try an automated social media posting tool. This will help you significantly!

4. Attend some Free Webinars

If you are like most of us, you’ve pretty much done everything in the book to entertain yourself. Whether you have been catching up on reading, some DIYs, cooking, cleaning and working out, you’ve been doing the whole nine yards. Keep it up! If you are looking for a change of scenery and would like to improve your real estate business, try enrolling in some free webinars. IXACT Contact Real Estate CRM and Marketing Automation has some new webinars scheduled for the month of May. Keep up with IXACT Contact’s social media to find out how you can register for any of our upcoming webinars.

Key Takeaways

Make the most out of our current situation. It seems like everywhere you look, you are bombarded with negative information on the COVID-19 Pandemic. Don’t let this stop you from passing the time productively. Remember, don’t be too hard on yourself either. Today may be an off day for you, but remember, there’s always tomorrow. Try to get a routine going, make lists, stay active on your accounts, and attend some free webinars. If you don’t already have a CRM, try ours for FREE, with a 5-Week FREE Trial.

Hi Rich,
I think keeping a schedule is important even if it differs from what it used to be. We all need to find what works under the current circumstances, don't we?

Great tips. Sometimes getting on social media can get me compleely distracted. At work, I have an hourglass on my desk so I limit my web surfing.

Excellent reminder of what I SHOULD be doing!  It is so easy for me to get sidetracked...we are having gorgeous weather down here in Florida and I would much rather be outside digging in my garden.  I have to watch that.

Yes, Lindsay Reagan, Realtor , I agree. That word "should" is a hard one to make "do".

It's always best to keep a schedule and a list of to do items, virus or not!  I have done this for years so the virus' impact is isolation alone.  It's been great finishing projects and staying focused on industry reading.  Great post!

This is a very useful list of To Do's - I suspect some are better at all this than others, especially since our routines have been disrupted in so many ways.
