1. Take a Few Moments to Breathe and Meditate

We are all told to do this, especially in times of stress. However, now is the most crucial time to start practicing this. It is important to reflect on happier times and stay in the present. Take a few moments to breathe and think positive thoughts. If you don’t see yourself meditating, try a few other tactics to help combat stress. Drinking a cup of tea, doing some form of physical exercise, sitting out on your patio, or even just reading a book will surely do the trick. This will help clear your mind and keep you focused when you are working on your real estate business.

2. Find Activities to do that don’t Involve Watching the News

It’s very easy to succumb to the influx of news stories, social media posts, and articles about COVID-19, but if you find that it is affecting you and your mental state, stop engaging in such activity. If you continuously devote your attention to such activity, you can easily start forgetting about your real estate business and that will hurt you in the long run. Turn off the TV if you have to, go for a run, and get your mind focused on the positive. This is not to say that you have to completely alienate yourself from all media, but just take a break if you have to. And most importantly, stay positive.

3. Work on a Project that will Help you Build your Real Estate Business

At this time, you have more than enough opportunity to rebuild your business. Look at what needs work and devote time to it. No, you do not have to completely redo everything in one day. Work on everything one day at a time. For instance, on a Monday, you can look at your website and see if you need to recreate it or maybe even create one if you don’t have one already. IXACT Contact Real Estate CRM has some interesting website templates which can completely alleviate you of any feelings of stress when you have to create one. If you feel your website is perfectly fine, look at your database. Look at what needs to be organized and fix it. If you find that you’ve been disorganized, you can look at investing in a real estate CRM. IXACT Contact offers a robust real estate CRM and marketing automation system. Now, we’re offering a 5-week FREE trial to give you more than enough time to see if you like it.

4. Watch a Free Webinar

This goes back to our second point. In order to stay positive and motivated, you need to distract yourself and steer clear of any news stories that will put you in a negative mood. A good way to practice this, is by investing your time in a free webinar. IXACT Contact Real Estate CRM  offers real estate agents free webinars every month. And, they are FREE. That’s like killing two birds with one stone. This Thursday, join Shannon McGee, Sales Director of IXACT Contact for a webinar on Staying Ahead of the Curve with the Help of a Real Estate CRM.

It’s important to stay motivated and positive at this time. Not only will this benefit your real estate business, but your mental health as well. If you feel yourself getting all down in the dumps, follow any or all of our tips above which will surely help you stay positive!

I’ve gotten some good therapeutic advice to try to limit my news consumption and try to stay in the moment with my health and well-being and gratitude on my mind. We are literally all all in the same COVID-19 boat. Some of us are more affected, but boy is it strange.
