For this week's past call, we were blessed to have Marte Cliff and her wisdom about what to do for your bio and how she can help you.
To see some of her excellent creativeness on doing someone's bio, go see Debe Maxwel's.
We had many on the call, including: Debe Maxwell, CRS (of course, it's her call!), Elyse Berman, PA , Brian England , Kathy Streib and Lottie Kendall to name 5 of the many.
Marte Cliff went over many things including to make sure that you change and update your profile to be current (I'm guilty of that myself as many of you are!). How, when you do your profile that you should tell it in 3rd person narrative what you do and how you can help as well as what makes you special and why someone should want to work with you. If you do it in 1st person, you most likely will sound conceited and possibly contrite.
Testimonials are a very integral part of what you put down on your bio, as is all parts of filling out your bio completely. This is also inclusive of your education and past jobs that you have had, even if they don't have anything to do with real estate because you never know who's going to relate to you.
She (Marte) feels that it's also important to check your grammar (she really likes Grammar Girl), but make sure that you have the right context because it's still a computer and not a person. It does make mistakes contextually. So, make sure that you proofread what you wrote before you hit send or anything like that.
Marte suggests to make sure that you're always building rapport with your clients. I know, it's an obvious thing, but easily overlooked.
Marte does letters, newsletters and lots more. Make sure that you check out her website by going HERE
One specific thing that she wants you to know when you hire her is that when she sends you her questionairre, do not be stingy with your words!
