Friday the 13th - Oddly Enough....

Unlucky for Some? A date that has been regarded in many countries as rather inauspicious, is probably safer than an average Friday!

A study published by the Dutch Centre For Insurance Statistics showed that fewer accidents and reports of fire and theft occur when the 13th of the month falls on a Friday, than on any other Friday! Weird eh?

It could be that its because people are preventatively more careful or just stay at home more, but you never know!

But what about a Black Cat walking under a Ladder... on Friday the 13th?

Or hmmm...........stepping on a...

?????? :-))))) Who's superstitious? Not me!

Liz, it is a curious observation that people are "safer" on Friday the 13th. It must be the raised awareness level. I am as always VERY IMPRESSED how you find out all this stuff. I know, it is your researcher skill coming to bear again : )

Stacy: Me too! They've always been my fav! I've had 6 black cats over the years. Each time a kid moves out they take one with them!

Friday the 13th has always been a day I choose to do some things a little off track, probably just to prove the superstituitions are wrong. I have never had an accident on the 13th of any month and I have always been known as "The accident looking for the place to happen." Lots of fun to be had on any day. Thank you for the post.

I've had 2 black cats, one lived for 14 years, the other one is my current love, Shaddow, a long haired black cat. He's got looks and personality. I must say I'm glad the 13th is over though.

Word of advice to the super-supersticious... spend friday the 13th in Argentina and tuesday the 13th most everywhere else. I guess other countries pick their own special bad days.

I always thought of the 13th as a good luck number for me.... I always pick it, when I'm picking lottery numbers.... so come to think of it, maybe it is bad luck. I still haven't won. :)
