Did you know May 25 is National Geek Day? According to Wikipedia, May 25 was chosen to commemorate the official release date of the first Star Wars film, A New Hope on May 25, 1977. In addition to “Star Wars Day,” May 25 celebrates two other geeky, science fiction-related fan "holidays."
The Glorious 25th of May is celebrated by readers of Terry Pratchett's Discworld. It is also Towel Day, for fans of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy by Douglas Adams,
Geek Day on May 25 acknowledges many beloved science and science fiction traditions.
