"We help people make the best decisions"

We had an office meeting/pot luck dinner a few years age and thought we should come up wtih a motto.

We went back and forth on a lot of different phrases and ideas and came up with a motto that we all seemed to like a lot.

It seemed the more we talked the less we wanted real estate in the title.

What is your motto? How did it come about? Is it real estate related, customer centric or more about you or your company?

All the best!

Kevin

one of the agents I assist is an Accredited Land Consultant...and her Tagline is:   'I SELL DIRT IN A SKIRT' ,            I just recently earned the Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation - - - and my NEW Tagline is:   'Boomers and Beyond...'

both short and sweet - and gets the point across!  (the taglines, not us, lol - except for the sweet part, haha)

I really don't believe that motto's help much. I think concentrating on a marketing message works much better and uses the limited space online and in print better.  We go with "We will sell your home in 29 days or we sell it for free" in our marketing which pulls well, especially these days :)

KNOW PAYNE KNOW GAIN   is my personal slogo but our companies motto is

Careers worth having, business worth owning and lives worth living AND  God, family, business

I would say that it is more about us than customer driven

I have stayed away from tag lines - but have a few key lines I brand with.

So after reading your post and the comments, it occurred to me that a motto is like your 30 second elevator speech...just shortened a bit!  I like it!

Kevin:

"Selling Homes is My Business!" I was challenged in a CRS class to develop a motto. It took me six months from the end of that class to discover this tagline. Raejean comments are very similar to my motto belief. It should be part of your "elevator speech". Plus, it is an answer to one of the most common questions........What do you do for a living?

Hopefully, I will get the opportunity to brand it with maximum effectiveness.

Since I have a psychology background my line has been "Taking the Stress Out of Buying/Selling"

I use "Clients and Service...FIRST" as my slogan on alot of my mailings.  It is actually a true statement.

Kara: Both fun and easy to remember.

James: Quiete a tagline, how does that work?

Jeff: Very catchy your personal one, Company one is quiete lofty.

Adam: Whatever gets you remembered(Hopefully) in a positive light

Raejean:  I like that analogy

David: Simple & to the point - perfect.

Stacey: I have a psych degree too, certainly helps in this business  :). Great motto.

Latonia:  If clients are first they remember that!

All the best!

Kevin, that motto is the only way we work.  Careers worth having, lives worth living and business worth owning.   If that ever changes for me, I am going to find a new line of work!!!

Great post
