Thinking of building or buying a new home? Have you ever served in the United States Armed Forces?
Come attend the Veteran and Military Home Buyers Event, hosted by Stanton Homes.
A custom home builder and his team and local lenders will be happy to share expert tips for building, buying, or financing Raleigh area new homes, with an emphasis on special considerations and incentives available for Military and Veteran homebuyers.

Raleigh custom home builder Stanton Homes is co-hosting a Veteran and Military Home Buyers Event in Chatham County with a top local lender on Sunday July 27th, from 1-4pm.
Veteran and military homebuyers can get home buying and building tips from a widely acclaimed licensed general contractor/home builder and an award winning local lender, who will also be available one-on-one to answer questions about special programs.
There have been many changes recently in VA financing, and financing in general. Even if you've been through the process before, you'll want to be aware of how requirements have changed today, and how credit scores and other considerations can affect your financing choices.
Stanton Homes is one of only a very few builders to offer in-house new home plan adjustments to suit special needs or considerations. Changes to floor plans can include anything from adding more closet space or bonus areas to providing full wheelchair accessibility or other special concessions to meet ADA or Specially Adapted Housing requirements.

"Asking questions ahead of time can save a lot of time and trouble, so that you really know what your options are before you have to worry about signing contracts or divulging a lot of personal information," said Stan Williams, CEO of Stanton Homes. "We believe that informed homebuyers are in a better position to make decisions. We're pleased to be able to help with that education process. In addition, Military and Veteran families have special considerations, and we want to make sure they are aware of all the options available."
Multiple financial options for Military and Veteran homebuyers can also make a big difference in the bottom line.
We'll help you think about is whether you'll be looking for conventional construction or construction to permanent financing, or a VA loan. You'll learn how the VA process has really been streamlined, and the application is a lot smoother than it used to be. However, the VA loan program does not offer a construction financing option, so in some cases you may be working with a combined approach. Depending on the situation, a veteran or military buyer with excellent credit may actually be better off with another kind of financing.
For homebuyers looking for unique features or building techniques, Stanton Homes offers advice and guidelines, as well as tips on how to decide which features will fit within a set budget.
"Many of today's homebuyers are planning ahead," said Williams. "They're anticipating special needs such as first floor bedrooms, wider doorways and easily accessible bathrooms. They're interested in energy savings, and newer features such as rainwater collection systems. Military and Veteran families may have additional needs, and we want to make sure they are aware of options."
Stanton Homes also offers a special program for military homebuyers. The "Stanton Homes for Heroes" program includes an exceptional 3% discount off any Stanton Home, whether complete, under construction, or custom designed on a Stanton Homes lot or the buyer's. This discount is available for all Veterans, retired, and active duty military, including all branches of the Armed Forces, Reserves, and National Guard, who have served honorably for at least one year.
Event participants will be able to tour homes, and ask experts about building attributes and processes. They'll also receive advice regarding septic systems, permits, building timelines, and more. Attendees are encouraged to bring print outs of any home plans they have been considering, and can receive an onsite review of the plan, or can submit the plan for a free building cost analysis.
"If you're building a home anywhere in this region, we want to provide insights that help you understand your options," said Williams.
The Military and Veteran Home Buyers Event is open to all. Lunch will be provided. Event will be held at the Stanton Homes Model Home in Cattail Creek, just northwest of Pittsboro, NC.
