I didn't need an excuse to call my friend Debe Maxwell, CRS from Charlotte, but it was nice catching up by phone today. Debe has a lot going on in her life, what with her and husband Ray purchasing a lake home, arranging renovations, getting her current home ready for sale, all while managing a successful real estate business at Re Max Executive. I'm happy we took a few minutes (okay, 30 minutes) to visit and exchange anecdotes about the business, comical personal situations, and learning to live with face masks while maneuvering home inspections and showings.
Debe and I became "friends" through ActiveRain. I'm certain she has been an Ambassador since before I joined the platform a dozen years ago. She's so gracious and willing to help by reaching out to new and old members, offering encouragement and advice when needed. She invited me to attend the weekly Zoom meetings, to which I responded: I'd have to do hair and make-up to participate!
Debe is an original! We had the opportunity to talk a while back regarding a client of mine who was relocating to Charlotte. Although we had never talked before, it felt as though we had known each other for ages. She commented today that if we lived closer, we would spend lots of time together because of mutual interests and personalities. We laughed about my recent tumble (apparently we are both klutzes) and how we share a love of the water so I'm happy that she and Ray will soon be living the lake life.
We discussed how busy we are with real estate activity, how our mutual states are faring with the coronavirus, how sometimes we forget to wear our masks, and how we have to refrain from shaking hands with clients. We laughed over some of our similarities and took a few minutes away from a hectic life to just appreciate the conversation. It was a pleasure talking with Debe; I'd love to visit in person one day if we are ever in the same state.
PS: I did a little Facebook stalking and discovered Debe was the featured agent on the Real Producer magazine for September 2019. I couldn't think of a more fitting photo for this post.
