My Dad had no education. When we lived in Philadelphia, we rented a house. His dream was to own a real home.

So when he decided to open a jewelry company in New York, he found a small community on the beach...where we would live. He always wanted a home on the water, but those were very costly. He found a home that had an upstairs apartment, and basement unit with a private entryway.

He figured that the rentals would help pay our mortgage and build savings. The house paid off, and helped me to get a university degree, and to live my Mom's dream of living in Manhattan, and then retire in Miami Beach.

I'm renting our offices for over ten years. Renting doesn't help you build equity. Maybe it is too late, but I would like to have my own building for The Lois Geller Marketing Group in Ft. Lauderdale or Hollywood. It would be my legacy to my amazing employees.

My Dad's legacy on this Father's Day? His love and faith in me.

Have a good one!
